Introduction :

The term 'Middle East'  refers to a vast geographical region which today includes the countries of the Gulf ( Saudi Arabia , Kuwait , Oman etc. ) , Iraq , Iran  , Jordan , Israel , Turkey , Egypt , Yemen , Syria etc.  This term was used by Europeans to refer to these areas in medieval times , when Far East term was used for Asia and lands beyond the Arabian Sea.  Middle East was ruled by monarchs of the Ottoman Empire for maximum part of its history , which was preceded by tribal kingdoms. After the decline of Ottomans , this region fell into  the  hands of military dictators.
