The period of the Gilded Age in the US saw industrialization and economic prosperity occur on a large scale. However, a consequence of this was increasing problems being faced by workers, and laborers and the widening gap between the poor and the rich. All these issues led to the beginning of the Progressive Era from the 1890s to the 1920s.
