The racial problems got a new outlook as several thousands of European immigrants continued to immigrate to the US in the 19th century expecting to make a better living in the United States. The immigrants mainly came from Britain, Ireland, and Germany. The opportunities provided by industrialization and urbanization attracted immigrants and black people to the urban industrial centers of the country.
