Read chapter 6 and write a paragraph in which you give your own ideas and comments on the general topic.

Why is Change Resisted: Organizational change is the result of a clash of cultures. There are two main
cultures in any organization when it comes to change: advocates and resisters.
Advocates are typically in charge of facilitating change. The organization must take the following efforts
to make change easier. Businesses should have a new way to advocate. Businesses should recognize the
concerns of resisters. Businesses should also create many tactics to encourage change.
During the transition, potential resisters should be provided adequate opportunities to express their
ideas and concerns. Organizations should not introduce change as a surprise. Predictability is vital for
most people. This is one of the reasons they are opposed to change. Also, businesses should implement
the changes slowly at first. Businesses should allow them to share their worries, think about how
valuable they are, and come up with solutions.
It's important to understand that the environment in which change occurs is shaped by reward and
recognition systems. Also when implementing a change organizations must provide a "quid pro quo"
arrangement. Businesses should "give something, get something" strategy.
Also, it is essential for the advocates to respond swiftly and favorably when prospective resisters ask
questions or voice their concerns. The resister's concerns should be answered truthfully. When
implementing changes in the organization it is important for businesses to treat their employees with
respect. Employees are the most significant asset of the company. Also, businesses should understand
that the change is made for the sake of continuous improvement. As a result, business managers should
be discussed them constructively to show their employees how the change will result in improvements.
When employees are expected to change, resistance to change is a normal reaction. Change is difficult,
and it necessitates new forms of knowledge. People have a hard time imagining what life would be like
on the other side of a shift. As a result, people choose to stick to the familiar rather than welcome the
unfamiliar. Companies of all sorts are always changing, as sectors expand and businesses must adjust as
well. Companies must first start preparing for the change, then implement the change and develop a
plan for managing it, and last, support the change and ensure that everything is proceeding according to
plan.
Establishing a quality culture Needs the company to go through the phases of changes. Employees and
managers go through phases of emotional transition which are shock, denial, realisation, acceptance,
rebuilding, understanding and recovery. Through this emotional changes the senior management must
plan for this change properly to smoothen its effects. It includes identifying the changes needed, putting
a plan for it, understanding the emotional transitions, identifying the key people and making them into
advocates, using the codechef strategy and supporting everyone through this change.
Maintaining the quality culture is as important as creating it. For this purpose there should be an
awareness of a quality culture spread in the management style, recognition for the behaviour which
empowers the quality culture and empowering and involving employees in maintaining it.

CHАPTER 6
To run a company or organisation, Quality culture plays an important role. The image of the company
depends upon its organizations culture which shows how the employees intract with each other, what's
the environment of the workplace. The good or bad image of the grganisation is made in the minds of
the customers that how they are treated by the employees. Which shows what company have its
mindset about the customers, there is no need of slogans and big posters for the advertisement. If the
Qrganisation values are good it will automatically become popular because the best advertisement is
done by the public reviews. Employees, SURliers and customers are the pillar of any organisation.
They all should be treated well for good growth of company, Environment of workplace decides that how
employees will behave with each other, good environment will make them supportive nature, will
enforce them to work as team and give their best for companies growth. where as bad environment will
make the things tough and will exploit the companies growth, Quality culture can be easily created by
the managers and position holders by helping the employees by providing motivational support. In many
companies traditional type of culture is adopted in which they only focus on the short term profits and
for that they can do anything, lossing their employees and surliers trusts. They put all work load on the
shoulders of the employees and creates hell situations. They blame their employees for the mistakes
made by themselves, syrliers are treated as enemies and tries to side them in order to take their profits
as well but this traditional culture do not survives for long term and companies adopting them too.
Where as Quality culture management sustains for long period of time and earns more profits.
One thing is constant, 'change'. The company to sustain itself with the changing environment should
bring many changes constantly within itself. For every employee to participate in this change, the leader
must lead the way at first place. If the current leaders are not in tone for making the changes, removing
the obstacles and articulating the vision then the leaders must be changed first. Else the senior leaders
who are not able and willing to empower employees to think and act on the change will act as a
hindrance themselves. For making all the changes in the company constantly, the foundation must be
strong and hence the 10 step process must be followed including explaining the leaders the reason for
change, orienting and training employees in the right way for quality culture, etc. What what an ideal
company would look like must be placed on the walls as a goal in front of employees. Through all these
practices the company will be more adaptable to its environment and will be able to serve its customers
better.
Change is more required for any company working in creative industry like entertainment, marketing,
etc. The culture, leaders and processes are most important wheel of this change. Too strict processes
and policies will lead to obstacle in the change. Therefore in successful companies, employees are given
increasing amount of freedom to take their own decisions and achieve the goals.
Change is resisted in any organization. Resistance to change is a common occurrence in the workplace.
Change is a requirement in the workplace, regardless of business culture.
