The United States had been formed with the freedom wrested from the British empire after years of revolution and the desire to live a free autonomous and sovereign life for the citizens. However, what soon followed was imperialism carried out by its government leading to their taking away the rights and privileges of those who were deemed as inferior and thus had to be governed by a superior community. This was simply a justification given to mask the economic motives behind their imperialistic tendencies.
