Patricia Smith is an American poet , professor and author. She has an African-American origin as is said to be the first from the community to regularly publish for the Pulitzer awarded Boston Globe. Great Migration happened in US from around 1910 to 1970 when more than five million black people moved out from their southern states towards the North.
