Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) is the loss of one parent's contribution to cell and can be caused by deletion, gene conversion, mitotic recombination, loss of chromosomes. Loss of heterozygosity is a common form of allelic imbalance because of which heterozygous somatic cells becomes homozygous because loss of one of the alleles.
