Assignment I: Liberty Searching Pavle Lippert Master of Social Work, Walden University 6301: Social Work Practice Research I Dr. Stevenson December 10 th , 2023
Abstract This literature will highlight the three main points to the reader in order. First, the paper will state the possible research topic to the reader. Secondly, the reader will understand the terms the writer used to search for peer-reviewed articles from the Walden Search engine. Furthermore, there will be an explanation of how the terms relate to the selected topic. Lastly, the paper will show the APA references of three peer-reviewed articles from my searches. These searches will be accompanied by explaining how they relate to the picked topic in section one.
Introduction When I was little, believing in seeing anything good in the future and people was nearly incomprehensible. The environment that had to become ordinary was atypical of the characteristic sense of childhood. When looking at the childhood effects of my upbringing, I lived in an orphanage for seven years in a developing country with nothing to call home and family. The conclusion should have been to be forgotten in a social construct that has long been firstly supportive but, secondly, kind. Nevertheless, this little boy who is now writing this paper learned what it was like to push through adversity and be resilient. Not only learning to respect the self but also how to love and, more importantly, to be loved. At this time in my life, many things have shaped my self-perception, morals, ethics, and social work. They can help me transform that into a new chapter in my life. Looking at it from an older and wiser state of mind, I learned from a young age to be resilient. For the patients I work with in crises, rediscovery, and utility, I hope growth allows me to find my purpose. Serving people to assist them when oppressed, self-inflicted, or externally, I have been interested in the concept of post-traumatic growth. The key word for me is “growth.” We are resilient, and growth is intertwined and correlated in any crisis or difficult situation due to that inherited trait. Intended Research Topic When we discuss the term “ resiliency,”  the definition can be complex. Still, as defined in the study,  Resiliency, Meaning, in Life, And Life Satisfaction: Examination of the Moderating Effects,  highlighted the term in a multifaceted context. Foremost, in adaptation to distress, mitigating the consequence of a stress-inducing event, and second, is recovery from the adverse situation. (Lou et al., 2108). The two words of recovery and adaptation are intellectual to work,

personal, and moral character. The research topic that is subjectively paramount is the relationship between adaptability and resilience in early adulthood. The psychiatric unit has become the daily environment in which many adults do not show the external motivation to continue moving forward with their own lives and situations. A lot of the time, individuals are so disheveled with the division of progress in the edifice and the institution of the mental health system that they are unable to continue in treatment, groups, and day-to-day functioning. In this research area, there is a motivation to learn the characteristics of individuals who face adversity and the internal or external motivator to recover or be resilient to those who are not adaptable. With the outcome of demarcating what makes individuals resilient and external, along with internal motivators for success, the practical application of the research can be applied in the inpatient unit. Applying the research findings can help plan to work with patients to find their own adaptability and recovery skills for the distress in their current situations. Level 2 Heading Searched Terminology When researching the research topic, three main peer-reviewed articles were shown to be effective in helping me with the research completion and finalization. For the research topics, some of the terminology used included: Resilience or resiliency or Resilient o AND young adults  o or inpatients or hospitalization or." Hospitalize."  When entering these terms, the following article of interest needed more insight into the topic. The subject construct and the methodology components were often irrelevant to the research goal.
The terminology used in the second search showed more additional favorable outcomes.  Adaptability  o AND young adults o OR Psychiatric ward o OR Hospital or acute setting or inpatient or ward When entering these terms, there was a broad but more specific avenue of studies more applicable to the research topic. The next set of terminology was more effective in finding more outcomes of the research studies.  Patients  o AND Positive outcomes o OR Psychiatric ward Resilience or resiliency or resilient o And Positive outcomes  o OR young adults  Positive mental health  o AND Outcomes o OR Young adults o OR Hospital or acute setting or inpatient or ward Adaptability  o AND young adults o OR Psychiatric ward o OR Hospital or acute setting or inpatient or ward
APA Examples and a brief Explanation The article is titled "Parenting-Related Positive Childhood Experiences, Adverse Childhood Experiences, and Mental Health " in four sub-Saharan African countries." This article discusses the effects of Adverse Childhood experiences (ACEs) and the implications that they can have on young adults. When Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE) are utilized effectively, the effects of ACEs can be suggested and buffered in effects of the child into adulthood. Furthermore, the study highlighted the sexual commonalities and differentiation in what the impacts of ACEs and the PECs in youth can have on the resiliency of young adults. In conclusion, the study highlighted the importance of preparing children with parental guidance and support in childhood and the effectiveness of such correlations.  Seya, M.-K. Parenting-related positive childhood experiences, adverse childhood experiences, and mental health—four sub-Saharan African countries.  Child Abuse & Neglect . https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chiabu.2023.106493 The second study is titled " ACEs and counter-ACEs: How the positive and negative childhood experiences influence adult health."  The literature highlighted the effects of Adverse Childhood experiences (ACEs) and Counter-Adverse Childhood Experiences(C-ACEs) on young adults and their struggles with early adulthood. The study introduced Health Outcomes with Positive Experiences

and the correlation with mental health outcomes. This literature helps understand some successful interventions children (adolescents) can utilize in the face of chronic stress. This study does an excellent job of expanding on the Resiliency Theory and the three main components of constructing the theory in reasonable detail and application. Crandall, A., Miller, J. R., Cheung, A., Novilla, L. K., Glade, R., Novilla, M. L. B., Magnusson, B. M., Leavitt, B. L., Barnes, M. D., & Hanson, C. L. (2019).  ACEs and counter-ACEs:  How positive and negative childhood experiences influence adult health.  Child Abuse & Neglect 96 . https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chiabu.2019.104089 The last peer-reviewed article is the study's title, " Life Challenges and Barriers to Help Seeking: Adolescents' and Young Adults' Voices of Mental Health." This was a terrific and in-depth article about the internal and external concerns youth and young adults have about current mental health issues. Some of the critical points in the article are the appropriate and negative help-seeking behaviors, leading to more understanding and confidence in difficult or adverse situations. The article illustrated the ACEs and the social influences that assist young adults in the absence of reaching out and feeling unheard. The article was excellent and relevant to the topic chosen due to the further details it highlights on the interpersonal issues, stigmas, and behaviors related to being equal in mental health issues.  Hellström, L., & Beckman, L.
