Commentary: Write a narrative paper to address the following areas related to the entire interview. Be sure to word process your answers. Attach this narrative to the previous forms you have completed. Analyze the content and process of the interview. Discuss the overall content (what was actually said, the subject matter/task of the interview). In addition, discuss the process or dynamics of the interview (the emotional tone, reaction of client to interviewer, reaction of client to topics being discussed, the reaction or experience you had as the worker in interacting with the client, or nonverbal observations). Give examples of significant exchanges or roadblocks experienced in the content or process of the interview. Describe the interview’s overall strengths and work areas identified in your review. Describe the aspects of your interview that went well and the concerns that you identified. Considering the significant exchanges described above, what did you learn about your client, and what did you learn about yourself as an interviewer/helper? With regard to the roadblocks you encountered, what would you do differently next time? Identify and discuss specific plans for improvement in the work areas identified. In other words, what can you do in the future to improve your skills? List three or more questions or areas that you would like for your peer group to address when reviewing your tape. 10
