2-2 Milestone one
Criminal Justice is the subject I have chosen for my research. As a researcher, I want to conduct research on the amount of stress officers are subjected to in their personal daily lives including their significant others, or interactions with the public as well as their workplace interactions. As I mentioned earlier, there are many similarities between my chosen topic and my field of study, because I have friends and family who work within the law enforcement field, and I can see how it affects them daily. It is also possible that I would like to pursue a career in the criminal justice field, so knowing the statistics regarding how much stress and the mental and emotional effects that careers in the criminal justice field have on people will be useful to me and to others as well.

In my research, I notice that the trend that coincides with the approach that I chose was qualitative research because it was the first approach that examined non-numerical data that I chose to use. Research that is qualitative involves the collection of data from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, participant observation, and documents. My goal in this type of study would be to gain a better understanding of how some crime cases can affect officers in the field and learn how some of these cases may affect them.
To overcome the challenges associated with research questions, the simplest thing that I can do is to stay on track, to focus, and most importantly, to not procrastinate. It is important for me to maintain an open mind so that I can treat every single bit of information I come across in the same way. Then I will double-check any data I may find, and I will search for supporting evidence to support any further questions I may have concerned any of the data
As a result, if the methodologies were to be limited, then I may not be able to find the type of research I am seeking to answer my question if the methodologies were to be limited. To get the full picture of the phenomenon, it is crucial to look for data that comes from different angles and viewpoints, so by analyzing only quantitative data, you would not get the whole picture the way if you only looked at qualitative data. Obviously, if one kind of methodology cannot be found, then there has not been enough research done on the topic yet, or if there is not a viable way in which to retrieve all the information in a complete manner, it suggests that not enough research has been conducted on the topic yet. There is still a possibility of using the research problem, however, because there are other methods that can be used to obtain more data as well. The topic can be narrowed or broadened by using a different set of keywords in your search, as well as narrowing or broadening the search terms.
