Sarah, I enjoyed reading your discussion board post. The knowledge you shared was impressive. I, however, am still learning about SMART goals and how to implement them within my own classroom. Based on what I have learned thus far, I have found that it is important to use SMART goals and do so in a way that promotes academic success. SMART goals “should be described in a manner that includes observable actions, a reasonable timeframe for accomplishing them and criteria that make it possible to measure the extent of the student’s progress” (State Government of Victoria, 2024). Therefore, I truly appreciated the in-depth explanation and insight that you provided for each component of your SMART goal. Additionally, it should be noted that “making goals individual rather than having class-wide goals can help to ensure that students get the correct support that they need in order to succeed in education” (Twinkl, 2024).
