LESSON 4 DISCUSSION 2 Lesson 4 Discussion In the quest of transforming juveniles to become responsible youngsters and ultimately adults that adhere to constitutionality, it’s always prudent as a police officer to find the best way to mentor. In this case, I would summon all the juveniles that attempted to steal beer and have a mature conversation with them (Taylor & Fritsch, 2020). I will demand that they introduce me to their parents while affirming to them that stealing and taking beer at such an age is unlawful and the onset of a criminal life. I will break down the consequences that they can suffer as juveniles and as adults if they continue this behavior (Zhao, He, & Lovrich, 2006). Upon meeting their parents, I will have a candid conversation on the deviant behaviors that these juveniles depicted. If the parents confirm that the individual juveniles have practiced these behaviors for a long time, I will advise them that the police will take care of them by sending them to a probationary centre for a while for rehabilitation purposes (Hawdon, 2008). However, all the court processes will follow because the constitution must apply in all aspects of court cases. On the other hand, I will also ensure that the juveniles that purchased the liquor also undergo the same procedure as their counterparts who tried to steal their beer. The rationale is that these juveniles are all characteristic of the deviance that they demonstrated. They require serious mentorship and possible probation if their parents approve it (Taylor & Fritsch, 2020). The lack of criminal records also shows that they are not chronic criminals yet and their behaviors can be mended up. In handling these groups, I will use the service approach because it involves caring for the citizens and community as the juvenile mentorship programs do (Taylor & Fritsch, 2020). Importantly, I will arrest the liquor store owner for infringing on the law and
LESSON 4 DISCUSSION 3 selling alcohol to minors. Using the legalistic style, I will read out the law contraventions by the store owner and arrest him (Taylor & Fritsch, 2020). The store owner has a court case because he was involved in spoiling the juveniles by selling them alcohol.
