2 Observation Skills Observation skills allow a person to recognize, analyze, and recall the surroundings through the use of the five senses. I can help my students improve their observation skills by creating an ideal environment for observation. This entails offering ample lighting, minimizing distractions (i.e., loud noises), and creating a safe and comfortable space for students to explore and observe. Second, I will encourage my students to engage in activities that strengthen observation skills. These include nature walks, sensory play, and art projects. After participating in these activities, I will encourage them to explain their observations and ask questions to strengthen their understanding. Third, I will foster curiosity in my students. Research has shown that curiosity can prompt students to look more closely at the environment and observe some details they may otherwise fail to see (Raising Children Team, 2023). Lastly, I will incorporate technology to improve observation skills. Visual media, such as videos, interactive games, and educational apps, can help students to better recognize the world around them. References
