What is the Best Therapy for Anxiety? Cognitive-behavioral therapy is the first-line treatment for anxiety. This is a therapy that is practical and present-oriented and it assists people in recognizing the cognitive distortions that anxiety causes, assist them in confronting their concerns, and provides techniques for reversing reactivity. The purpose of this therapy, like all treatments, is to restore calm. However, it does much more than just restore one’s calm. It also helps people in regaining when worry threatens to overtake them. Natural Approaches to Anxiety Anxiety needs active treatment or it will end up restricting one’s life and develop into a chronic condition. But it doesn’t mean it needs to be prescribed or treated by a physician. Some of the most effective ways to manage anxiety involve changes in lifestyle or behavior. Meditation is an eastern practice for calming the mind, and it gaining popularity in western society. Regular activity that is either running or walking can help release the muscular tension that causes so much pain. Exercising on a regular basis also changes the brain. Deep breathing might be the most effective way in terms of dealing with anxiety. It has a direct influence on the nervous system, causing calm and reducing emotions of danger.
