You can take a deep breath and tell your therapist or you can put your thoughts in writing and either read them to the therapist, have the therapist read them while you are present, or even give them to the therapist between appointments so you can be prepared to discuss these issues after you know your therapist has already become away of these difficult things from your history. A simple inquiry not unlike what you just wrote might be ideal: “ I have experienced some emotional and sexual abuse and think I may have PTSD. You could say just this, that you believe you may have PTSD.
