3 These concepts come together in the data generated by computing the averages for each column. In order to show similarities between each data set, you will then see a trend where points converge. By being aware of the scale of measurement for a particular set of data, we can select the most appropriate central tendency measure.This also gives us the option of selecting the ideal graph and variability measure.Scales of measurement have an impact on conclusions made about statistics and graphics because they choose which statistics we will use based on the scale of measurement that is chosen. When analyzing ordinal data, it makes use of the mean, median, range, and interquartile range. With either the range/interquartile, standard, or mode for interval-ratio data, it uses the mode or median. When dealing with interval- ratio data, it uses the mode or median along with the range/interquartile, standard deviation, or variance. It makes use of the mode for nominal data. For interval ratio data, histograms should be utilized in visuals, while bar graphs should be used for nominal and ordinal data. The type of data being gathered and analyzed determines the appropriate statistical methods to use. They are different in nature and application. Graphs are a popular tool for visually presenting and illustrating data relationships. The objectives and data types we have, however, determine how we use them. We should use the appropriate images for the data set so that the audience may comprehend summaries and findings more quickly and easily.
