Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz served in both the Florida Senate and House of
Representatives. The address of her office is 1114 Longworth H.O.B. in Washington, DC 20515.
Her work contact number is 202-225-7931. You may find out more about her current projects on
her website [Deb17. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman was one of the supporters of the
Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law on March 23, 2010, and has battled diligently
for Medicare. She is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality, affordable
healthcare.
This law's three primary goals were to expand Medicaid to include all adults with
incomes below 138% of the federal poverty line, lower the cost of health insurance for more
people, and offer financial incentives for the development of new medical technologies that will
lower the overall cost of healthcare. The American Health Care Act of 2017 took the place of the
Affordable Care Act, but (United States. Congress. House. Committee on the Budget, 2017).
Over a ten-year period, the elimination of the investment income tax and payroll tax hike
associated with the Affordable Care Act would save high-income taxpayers almost $300 billion
in taxes.
This new bill, in my opinion, threatens the entire Affordable Care Act. (
Pear, 2017).
In
my opinion, this new bill undermines the entire Affordable Care Act whose aim was to help
everyone gain affordable care especially low-income individual. The entire Affordable Care Act,
which goal was to assist everyone in obtaining affordable care, especially low-income
individuals, is, in my opinion, undermined by this new law.
