Go to “Court Role and Structure” then comparing federal and state courts. - How are federal judges selected ? federal judges are to be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. - How are state judges selected?  election, appointment for a given number of years, appointment for life,combinations of these methods, e.g., appointment followed by election. -What types of cases do federal courts hear?
