Lesson 3 Fact vs. Fiction The topic I chose for this assignment was The Mandela Effect. There is a lot of controversy on this subject in the world today. Those that are more liberal in their thinking tend to be more open to the concept of The Mandela Effect. Whereas those that are more conservative in their thinking tend to think that it is a bunch of propaganda. Only time will tell if it is fact or fiction. What do you think? What is The Mandela Effect? It is when a group of people remember something differently than it actually is or was. They believe the reason for this is from Cern’s experiments with the Large Hadron Collider. They are trying to recreate The Big Bang, but instead send us to an alternate dimension or universe, so they say. Examples of The Mandela Effect are: Curious George, they say that he never had a tail. I remember him having a tail, and would have thought it was weird that he did not have one, if that was how he was portrayed. There is also The Berenstein Bears. They say that it has always been spelled Berenstain instead of Berenstein. Another is the FruitOf The Loom logo. They say there is no, and has never been a cornucopia. When they registered the logo the description included a basket that holds fruit. Why would they put that in the description if there never was one? In my opinion, all or almost all of the things they mention are the way they say that it was, and is not the way they say it has always been. This is a perfect example of opinion or fact. Nobody knows for sure, because nobody can prove that it used to be the way we remember it. If somebody could actually do this then I don't know exactly what they would be proving but it would be something impressive for sure.
