Mental illness can be damages done due to depression. Job was a man of great statue. Job believed God through it all but yet had a moment of depression. In Job 30:16-20 we see he states that depression hunts his days. Though he trusted God and endured depression hunted him but he overcame it. In this passage Job is saying that God does not answer him and will not look his way. He was in despair at this moment. Depression can cause mental illness. Many battle with this and some have overcame it but then others have not overcame it. We are not to ignore the signs of depression as it is very serious and become very serious in your alone time as Job a strong man became depressed. When you feel as if God is absent then you can become depressed. Job was a faith man and had to constantly speak over himself because depression came in and hunted him. Job was a rich and blameless man and then ended up loosing everything. Can you imagine having it all and living for God but then wake up and it’s gone. You go through your day and trust God but still have to live with reality. Depression is a heavy sadness that comes over you. This makes a person very overwhelmed and feel helpless. At this point Job was a faith man that started to really see reality. His faith was tried and we all are human. Our Faith will be tried and we will have sad moments. Money, Fame and all other things can all disappear and we have to have to pray for the peace that’s Speke about in Philippians 4:6 that will surpass all understanding. Even in our sad moments just as Job we will still pray and trust God. Some battle with mental illness because they don’t have the peace, they don’t have no one to trust , they don’t pray and some have experienced so much trauma that it’s so hard to cope with life and they don’t know how to cope with life. All of these can be a reason for mental illness caused by depression. Job has close friends that only added to his discomfort. Mental illness can even be caused from friendship and how to are not helping to cope with depression and everything going on. Many have mental illness because of their friends pressuring them and

not helping them. This is to show that we can be a believer and still must take heed to mental illness because it can become apart of your life. Mental illness can creep up on you if depression is overlooked and not dealt with. Depression can bring upon many sad actions if it’s not dealt with. Challenges in life, trauma in life, and hurt can all grow and build up in a person’s mind and weigh them down. This can eventually cause mental illness if it is not dealt with correctly. Our mental health is very important even as Holy Ghost filled believers in Christ. It is important to keep your mental health positive by quoting scriptures such as Philippians 4:13 to encourage yourself that you can do all things and overcome. Apostle Paul was one of the writers who encouraged and helped those that can be battling with mental health. Apostle Paul wrote the epistles and it consists of varies of scripture to tackle mental health with and to keep you positive. Romans 8:18 he states that the suffering we endure now can not be compared to the Glory that’s going to be revealed. Apostle countlessly talked about God grace because many battle mentally tearing down and beating up themselves but he encourages that you can come out of every pit and receive forgiveness if you ask God for his forgiveness and receive his grace. Apostle Paul encouraged a lot and could talk about this sincerely because he battled with depression. In 1 st Corinthians the first chapter Apostle Paul talked about being in despair. He writes about being completely burdened. In this chapter he says “burden beyond our strength.” Though Apostle Paul battled he often rejoiced and encouraged himself and others. The epistles help to understand that we all have issues and we have some some kind of battle that we fight with and that no one is perfect. It helps with the mental health of the people. We can see where God even removed the thorn in Paul’s flesh. The epistle deals with Apostle Paul overcoming and being able to to survive depression. time was soon as he even wanted to die at one point but he expressed great Joy in the midst of struggling. Apostle Paul is a great example of counting it all joy even when you fall into divers temptation as the book James instructed to do. This will help in the most lowest moment and can help to overcome mental illness. Apostle Paul mental health was attacked many of times as many were even against him and attacked him but he took time to always seek God and encourage himself. He wrote encouraging messages and sought the Lord. Lastly King David suffered depression. In Psalm 22 king David felt forsaken and cried out to God why has he forsaken him and “where are you in my time of trouble.” He’s feels a that he is a man after God heart and left to fight for my own life and your no where to be found. He is communicating with God because he is in a very low and dark place. David also was able to write about plenty low and dark places as he was there many of times. David knew that God would never leave him but when he got into his low place he began to question that. One thing about David he was never to prideful to ask for help. It’s important to ask for help and not just ask anybody for help because if not you can become mentally drained. David lost his best-friend Jonathan , commuted adultery and lost his baby, and lost his only son Absalom. David was experiencing so many lost and even conducted an act of sin and paid a big price for it. David battled with low self esteem and had to encourage himself. 1 Samuel 30:6 says that David was greatly distressed suffering so much pain. This came from the fact that men were talking about stoning him. David was facing death in the face and it effected him mentally by being distressed but then he found strength in the Lord. This encourages us to find strength in the Lord by encouraging himself in the Lord. If you do not take time to encourage yourself then you will be distressed and it will weigh you down. David teaches here that even being distressed encourage yourself to find strength. He was mentally battling but encouraged himself in the Lord finding

joy and strength in whatever he was in. David encountered hardship and became very emotional even while writing most of Psalm. Though you may be in leadership and after God heart David exemplifies that you can still battle with your mental health but you have to encourage yourself and find strength in the Lord. Thought it maybe hard you have to open your mouth and speak encouragement.
