2 Introduction – Research & Evidence-Based Practice Presentation of the Illness by National Registries The selected illness for exploration is Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's can presented as a form of progressive-founded illness disorder that harms one's memory and other significant related mental-based functionalities (NIH, 2023). On this note, the underlying brain cell-based connectivity alongside cells tends to be degenerated and leads to their death, which triggers a harming of the individual’s memory coupled with mental functionalities. Ageing individuals are highly vulnerable to Alzheimer's and may present symptoms such as increased confusion extents and a lack of recollection of everyday activities (NIH, 2023). The illness has no cure but there can be the integration of evidence-based management approaches such as medication and non- medication therapies for relieving the symptoms for improved quality of life. Approaches for Locating Evidence-Based Clinical Trials for the Illness VEvidence-based clinical studies for Alzheimer's can be located within the in-person alongside online research trials that are alphabetically presented. An example of such trials is the in-person GeneMatch program that amalgamates a national registry for determining individuals who extend informed consent for involvement in Alzheimer’s trials per underlying genetic data (NIH, 2023). Another example is the Aging, Memory, and Spatial Navigation program which is founded on carrying out clinical trials for individuals who offer informed consent for being involved in evidence-based studies for memory coupled with spatial exploration. Another example is the AHEAD Study which is founded on exploring the efficacy of (BAN2401) which acts as a drug-based therapy, for preventing the onset of Alzheimer’s (NIH, 2023). Evaluating the Efficacy of Alzheimer’s National Registries to Stakeholders
3 I believe national registries are of significance to stakeholders as they form the focal point of steering healthcare quality improvement initiatives that are founded on evidence-based research. In regards to the Alzheimer’s prevention registry, there are emphases made for inspiring concerned volunteers to be involved in a continuum of evidence-based Alzheimer’s studies (NIH, 2023). A significant context is through the determination of innovative evidence-based research endeavours that promote the fight against Alzheimer's. On this note, there is the enablement for integrating various stakeholders within the preventive and handling of Alzheimer’s. Involved stakeholders may include patient populations, vulnerable populations, multidisciplinary collaborative healthcare teams, pharmaceutical companies and local, state and federal governments (NIH, 2023).
