1 Studying the Impact of Nurse Staffing Levels on Patient Outcomes. Sharon Cachu, Karla Alfaro, Samia Abdurahman, Blessy Ann Biju, and Saoussane Bouzhar Oak Point University NUR3055: Evidence Based Practice in Nursing Dr. Michelle Jordan Buie November 6, 2023
2 The primary objective in the constantly changing field of healthcare is to provide the best possible care to all patients. The nurse-patient relationship directly impacts the quality of healthcare delivery, patient safety, and overall healthcare outcomes. To gain a better understanding of this relationship, it is crucial to consider factors such as the nurse-patient ratio, the number of staff, their level of education, their proficiency in clinical practice, and their ability to make informed decisions. All these elements collaboratively contribute to providing the highest quality healthcare possible (Chau et al., 2015). As a group, we chose this topic because of our clinical experience and seeing the impact nursing levels have on patient outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to implement a quality improvement project on the impact of nurse staffing levels on patient outcomes.
