NR520 Module 2 Author Affiliation Course Name and Number Instructor Name Assignment Due Date NR520 Module 2 Reviewing the course outcome of the module, it is evident that we are going to gain valuable understanding of Carper's primary patterns of knowing, as well as other attributes such as clinical decision-making, critical thinking, situational awareness, and self-awareness. Nursing students will aim to appreciate and comprehend Carper's primary
patterns of knowing, which include aesthetic, personal, ethical, and emprical. I will hope to learn how these patterns combine and facilitate nursing practice, allowing us to establish a holistic comprehension of our mandate as healthcare providers. Besides, the module will help us understand the importance of self-awareness in the nursing practice. I hope to comprehend techniques and strategies to improve self- evaluation and self-reflection. Gaining a good comprehesnion of our limitations, biases, and values is beneficial in cultivating professionalism, empathy, and persostnal growth, thus establishing meaningful relationship with patients (Roberts, 2022). On the other hand, situational awareness is crucial in the unpredicatable and dynamic healthcare system. Situational awarenesss entails observing, elucidating, and forecasting potential changes or threats in clients' condition. Mastering situational awareness can help us to respond effectively and promptly to critical situations, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient safety. In addition, I am hoping the module with help us improve our critical thinking capabilities by learning approaches to assess complex issues, analyze multiple perspectives and make informed decisions. Critical thinking will help us in identifying issues, exploring innovative solutions and delivering high-quality care. Moreover, clinical decision-making is a fundamental competency in the nursing practice (Roberts, 2022). I am hoping to gain practical tools and knowledge to guide me in making informed clinical decisions, prioritizing clients' needs and observing ethical implications. The module contributes to our academic success as well as shaping our professional identity as effective, competent and compassionate nurses. References
