My Reflection On My Nursing Journey
My Nursing Journey I once heard someone say, "Find something you love to do and you'll always
be successful." If you want to be in a field where you are continually learning, nursing would be the
top pick. This paper will reflect the journey I have taken from Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) with the incorporation of my learning objectives from my clinical course.
Although, I've been in healthcare for over 20 years, working as a medical assistant, I believe my
journey truly began with nursing school
. It is one thing to do a job that you have been shown to do,
but it becomes different as I now understand why these processes are done as well as the
physiological implications. The journey to get to this point had felt like a lifelong one with many
disappointments and struggles along the way. However because of the knowledge I now have, I
wouldn't change a thing as I consider it extremely valuable.
My clinical experience for this semester was an opportunity to follow the house supervisor at Trios
Healthcare in Kennewick, WA. The courses at Washington State University (WSU) consisting of
leadership and management have taught me the value of collaboration as well as communication.
With the opportunity to follow the house supervisor I was able to apply this knowledge to my
clinical experience. This was especially good because one of my learning objectives was to
participate in the management of admissions and transferring patients in the

Descriptive Essay About My Journey
My journey the day I left my home country in search of a better life was not as pleasurable or
exciting as I expected. Although it was not a long flight, the accumulation of unexpected
vicissitudes during the trip made my dream of traveling an absolute nightmare. Not only my sadness
to be leaving my family behind, the uncertainty to fly alone and for the first time, or my
inexperience with the procedures at the airport contributed to this calamity, but even my neighbor on
the plane added his bit of sand in the affair. All this situation was such traumatic to me that I even
considered never daring to fly again.
The nightmare began long before I even set foot on the plane. To start, I was traveling from the
international airport of Havana,

This event caused an enormous fuss at the airport, and I could feel the heat of my red face boiling of
shame for being the center of attention at that moment. Once the clutter of the corrupt employee
quieted down, I went to check my luggage
. Although the line was not so long, it took an eternity for
me to receive assistance, since the only two clerks available at the time for that function had a lively
talk and did not appear to be in any hurry to attend the line of impatient travelers. Finally, my turn
came! The young woman took my documentation with such slow movements that her arms gave the
impression of having five–pound weights attached to each hand, and then she asked me to put my
luggage on a digital scale to my side. I did not have much in my suitcase, only clothes for a week, a
couple of family photos, and a small, fluffy, pink bag with my makeup, body lotions, and my
favorite perfume that smelled like the ocean in Hawaii impregnated with the exotic fragrance of the
Plumerias. Since everything was in order with the weight, they tagged my luggage and put it on the
baggage belt while my eyes followed it until it disappeared behind the curtains.
Throughout the check–in process, I tried to show myself steady and calm; I did not want my
relatives there to perceive the pain and sadness reflected in my face for leaving them behind. When

The Journey of Writing Writing is something I enjoy doing to share my opinions and ideas. During
this english course, I have learned how to change my writing in ways that make it more intriguing
and effective. The essays I have written during this English 101 course have pushed me to change
my writing process and write more creatively. Those essays have also forced me to reanalyze my
personal opinions and beliefs. After taking this course, I believe that my identity as a writer has
changed for the better. The English 101 Composition course has impacted me in a positive way. The
essays I have written in this class have helped me expand my perspectives and reevaluate my own
personal beliefs. For example, the essay "Praising the Golden

Another aspect that improved while taking English 101, was my writing process. Whenever I began
a new essay, I would create a list of ideas and a simple outline. These things allowed me to process
my ideas and arrange them in a way that made sense. Following these strategies helped me plan my
essays, but they did not allow me to branch my creativity or self–expression. This is because I had a
strict way of organizing my essay which denied me the ability to think creatively and write in
intriguing formats. For example, in my essay "The First Child", I was required to tell a true story in
a creative way. Before starting my paper, I wrote a list and outline which then lead me to write a
formal essay with no creativity or interesting hook. Therefore, when revising my essay I interviewed
the person who gave me their story and used index cards to organize my essay. I also changed the
format and looked for places where I could add more details and imagery. After editing, my essay
became more intriguing and had much more imagery that kept the reader interested. This is one of
my papers where I received good results and positive feedback after submitting it. Furthermore, I
learned through my work in this class that I struggle with conventions and mechanics. After,
submitting many of my essays, I noticed that in my feedback I had received many notes about
conventions, grammar, and punctuation. This revealed to me that I had to work on proofreading my
essay deeper and make

Journey Essay
English Speech– Journeys
"To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive." In other words a journey and the experiences
you have are better than the actual destination. The novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by
Mark Twain and the poem "The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost have taught me that journeys may
involves barriers and hardships, they can lead to significant personal change and more importantly
journeys facilitate reflection about how you see yourself, others and the world. Journeys are very
important in personal change and growth. They can also help us in comparing and contrasting new
and old experiences.

change and growth."The

In addition, "The Road Not Taken" also shows us how journeys allow for our reflection on many
things. In the poem the traveller experiences an obstacle or fork in the road. This allows the traveller
to take in his surroundings whether that be the path ahead or the people around him. This is shown
when he states 'two roads diverged in a yellow wood'. The traveller has two options and to make a
decision he has to really explore both of them. Robert Frost uses this poem to express his belief in
not always following the crowd and being an individual. Robert Frost uses conversational language
to create a sense of communication between the traveller and the reader and to enlighten the
reflection that the traveller has made. After comparing both paths and seeing every option his
reflection about his journey changes. The traveller decides to go with the path less travelled. He
decides to be different.
Journeys can lead to significant personal change. The experiences you have on a journey can shape
and change your perception of yourself and the people around you. In 'The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn
' this is shown when Huck's beliefs change and he becomes more mature. Huck
and Jim's relationship also develops throughout the journey. Huck's perception of Jim at the
beginning of the journey is very different compared to the end. At the start Huck doesn't take Jim
very seriously and has no compassion or respect for him. The influences of society have taught

My Life My Journey Essay
As a very small child I don't remember too much, but the things that I do remember were seen
through a child's eyes that has made me the person that I am today and I will always have those
memory's with me until my last breath on this earth. In this essay I intend to show how my
childhood and adult life to this point has influenced my life, my journey. By utilizing the adult
development theories from this class I also intend on showing how they relate to my Life
experiences and where I am today as an Adult student.
Its funny how as a child you look at things. As time passes, those same child memories become life
experiences as an adult. It is stated that Environmental assessment is closely related to the impact

I lost my little brother in 1982 at age 22 in an accident at my parent's home. Robbie was taking
down a C.B. antenna and it struck a high power line that ran into the local General Motors plant.
Robbie was killed instantly. As Erickson's stated in his psychosocial development theory, "which
refers to the development within the social environment in which a person lives, primarily focusing
on relationships with other people" (Simanowitz & Pearce. 2003). This had brought back memories
of how my relationship was when we were little. I was always kind of upset with Robbie because he
was one of those kids that had that natural athletic ability. Robbie could run faster and throw better,
do everything better when it came to sports, but the real reason I was mad at Robbie most of my
childhood life was because every time something went wrong, I always got the blame and in trouble.
Mom would say "You're older you should have known better" Yes she was right most of the time I
did know better. I was the middle child and I was always the one that got into trouble even though
Robbie might have done it first. I had a good childhood for the most part, I can't remember not
doing without the things that I really needed as a child. Things like clothes, food, shelter and love
from a family

Descriptive Essay About A Journey
I was sitting in the airport waiting with my heart filled with adrenaline, skies looking clear, and the
sun shining brightly. Going to Maine to a teen camp was very exciting but I could not help getting
goosebumps thinking about all the new faces I will have to encounter. Quietly I asked myself how
can this trip be more intimidating? Being away from my family was painful and four hours of
travelling was supreme torture. I was nervous, sweating, and contemplating the thought of returning
home where I truly belong. Nonetheless, the moment for me to depart had arrived. Placing my
suitcase in the trunk was melancholic but necessary. Complete discomfort covered my whole body
during the two–hour ride because the thought of living with fourteen strangers for a month was not
something that I was prepared for. Being far from home meant deleting the ability to be myself,
taking away my comfort zone, and becoming mute. It was 4 o'clock when I arrive at the camp and
the first thing I saw were tons of smiles, that radiate a welcoming feeling with the intention to make
us feel at home. It was awkward to see people that have never seen me be so happy by my presence.
Tall trees with vivid green coloured leaves and the brown dirt covered the entire scenery. Even
Though, the wet climate kept us trapped inside the view was breathtaking. Me being pessimistic I
waited anxiously to see if this day could be bombarded by even more misfortunes. When entering
the cabin there were fifteen bunks, one

My Writing Journey
Writing Journey Have you ever been given an assignment where you say to yourself, "how the heck
am I going to do this?" or maybe, "what am I supposed to write about?" Well that's exactly how I
felt, thought, and did with this writing journey. Coming up with something to say about my writing
journey has been difficult. I would be bold enough to say nearly impossible. So impossible it's like
trying to get a camel through the eye of a needle. Okay that might be an exaggeration, but it has
been difficult. The idea that I have a writing journey I understand. But thinking of an event or
something that has made my writing the way it is has been difficult. So, what I've decided to do then
is to write about my writing journey writing this paper
. It all started the morning of August 22, 2017.
I don't remember what the weather was, or even what I had for breakfast. But I do remember
wondering how to get to the Metro Campus of Tulsa Community College or TCC for short. I had
never been there before so it was a whole new place to me. Honestly because it was a new place I
was a little worried about it. But I managed to make it there and on time to class. Class, English
0933, or better known as Writing Foundations. It was an interesting first class session with Dr.
Dewayne Dickson. At this point I don't even remember what was taught that first time. I'm sure it
was the Syllabus. But the first thing he did was have us write about our "writing journey."
It took me a bit

Narrative Essay On A Journey
Everybody is on or has been on a journey before. Being on a journey is very important because it
gives you a goal or task that you want to accomplish. When you go on a journey you find is yourself
through the experiences and obstacles that life throws at you. Throughout a journey, you are taught
life lessons and have the capability of applying that new knowledge for the future for a better
outcome. Sometimes, these life lessons challenge you and you ultimately succeed at the end. For the
past 5 months, I have been on a journey as I have been learning a new instrument that I've always
wanted to learn since I was a little kid. Being on this path has taught me many life lessons and how
to stay focused on what really matters.
My interest in guitar started when my friend used to bring his guitar everyday and I would always
want to play but didn't know how. I would always ask him to teach me how to play but I didn't know
any of the chords and notes, therefore, I just gave up on attempting to play this new instrument.
However, guitar is an elective that's offered here at Kennedy, so I decided to take the class. I noticed
that my friend was getting better the more he practiced, so I decided to join the class to learn the
basics and get started on this new journey. At first, it was difficult to understand the notes because I
didn't have any musical background to help assist me for my own benefit. However, I began to focus
more in class to learn the basics day by day. Overtime, I learned that you can't learn guitar in one
day and you need a lot of practice to get better. I also discovered how progress is important to reach
my end goal.
I stayed on this journey to learn guitar because playing guitar is a special skill that I want to learn. n
my free time or when I'm bored, I could play guitar while learning new and more songs to play. As a
result, I will eventually and gradually get more advanced the more I learn. Another reason I stayed
on this journey is because I want to want to challenge myself to do something I thought I could
never do. When I was little, I always thought that I would never be able to play an instrument
because it was too difficult to learn. Therefore, this is why I wanted to learn guitar in the

Sheriff Bill was pushing almost 50 years old as he walked around and made sure everyone was
doing their jobs for the night. Patrolling both the wall and the town itself. This was one of the first
towns the zombie usually hit from the old crash site 20 years ago, lately however, there had been
more attacks. The numbers were the same, a small group of ten or twenty zombies but the number
and times they attacked had been increasing dramatically. Hence they put tangle wire and bells and
other things to warn them and defend the town. His deputy, Wyatt was doing the same with his idol,

Essay on An Incredible Journey
Catherine Marshall's Christy tells the story of a teenage girl pursuing adventure. While attending a
Christian revival meeting, 19–year–old Christy Huddleston is mesmerized when she listens to the
founder of an Appalachian mission program as he explains the work his mission is doing and the
needs of the Cutter Gap community. Christy Huddleston, the daughter of an affluent family in
Asheville, North Carolina, finds herself beguiled to the idea of volunteering for the mission to be a
teacher to the destitute students of Cutter Gap, Tennessee. The young, innocent and inexperienced
Christy finds herself bewildered in the ruthless and vindictive mountains of Cutter Gap. From her
first day in the Appalachians, she is accosted by superstition,

The death of Tom McHone reveals the callous ways of the mountain folk and the devastating
consequences of feuding. Christy is appalled by Tom's death, especially when she sees Tom's son
digging his father's grave. The events leading up to Tom's death and the death itself, opens up
Christy's eyes to death and the evils of mankind.
Secondly, Christy is confronted with the death of Fairlight Spencer her best friend. Christy only
looses more faith in God, when she is faced with the death of her beloved friend, Fairlight Spencer.
Christy, having never witnessed death, takes Fairlight's death very personally. Christy feels that she
betrayed Fairlight because she did not try to conciliate Fairlight when she was dying. With the death
of Fairlight, Christy is challenged by her faith. She is angry with God because she doesn't
understand why he would let her best friend die. Christy turns her back on God, unsure of her faith.
This is most evident when Christy states, "I don't understand, God! I don't understand Tom's death
and Fairlight's death, and I don't understand you. Why are you so inscrutable? Why are you so hard
to find when the need is greatest? All that time when I was holding Fairlight in my arms, I could not
get through to you. Did I plead with a void, God? Did I?" (Marshall 590). However, the death
Fairlight Spencer opens up Christy's mind to the harsh realities of life on the mountains. Eventually,
Christy finds her way

Essay On My Writing Journey
When starting my journey in the beginning of the semester, I never thought of the important
connections of reading and writing. I never knew how authors use different techniques and strategies
in their writing and how they use it to connect to their readers. I also never considered how helpful
reading an author's writing can be to improving my own personal writing. During my journey, I have
learned the importance of reading like a writer. I have learned to include the best attributes of what I
have been reading into my own writing. I learned to become an existentialist and intrapersonal
learner who builds their self–esteem and who looks for more opportunities to improve themselves. I
have also learned how the text in writing can affect the reader's opinions and thoughts and

This feedback not only taught me valuable lessons, but also has encouraged me to better improve
my writing abilities. Another challenge I faced was correcting my mistakes in my writing such as
fragments, awkward phrasing, and grammar errors. The way I resolved these was by going to office
hours and sacrificing my time to go to writing tutoring. Both of these helped me resolve my errors in
my writing and not make them again. I have learned the importance of good research and how I can
better summarize, analyze, evaluate, and make good arguments into my writing. I feel the
discussions that I had with my peers really helped me think more critically and helped me
brainstorm more ideas for my writing. These discussion groups helped me connect with other people
with different sets of views and opinions that helped strength my writing tremendously. The major
lessons I have learned from this course have been to always question your writing. Before beginning
writing it is always important to ask yourself what kind of audience you are writing to as well as the
kind of information you want to

The Importance of Journeys Essay
The Importance of Journeys A thorough study of journeys reveals that a journey is much more than
just movement from one place to another. Journeys are about learning and growth, and they have the
potential to teach people about themselves and the society in which they live. An Imaginative
Journey is one in which the individual doesn't in fact have to go anywhere in the physical sense. The
physical journey is replaced by an expedition that is fuelled by the human capacity to imagine.
Imaginative Journeys create endless possibilities. They can offer an escape from the realities of life,
and are frequently used to comment on social or human traits and characteristics. Imaginative

Prospero, on his island, is in command. It is his imagination that has conjured up his scheme for
revenge and the journey is his to have power over. Throughout the play, Prospero also experiences a
journey of wisdom and appreciation. He learns more regarding the social order in which he lives and
experiences self–realisation and discovers his identity. Prospero learns that revenge on his enemies
is not the best answer "Yet with my nobler reason 'gainst my fury Do I take part. The rarer action is
in virtue than in vengeance", and through his change, other characters such as Alonso learn
something about themselves and others such a Miranda and Ferdinand find love– "Beyond all limits
of what else I' th' world, Do love, prize, honour you." The imaginative setting for Prospero's island
allows for the unbelievable to take place. Because of the situation, Shakespeare can exercise his
imagination to generate characters and thoughts that are not possible in a realistic setting. The island
is a place of magic and imagination. The magic of Prospero, Ariel and the other spirits, Caliban and
the masque all persuade the audience, to suspend disbelief and accept imagination. Shakespeare has
created the magic so that the audience will be enticed by the opportunity to escape from the real
world, and experience encounters beyond the surface of the

My High School Journey
At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting
new people, and the fact that this would be my last years before becoming an "adult" and getting
closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and down.
These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget
that I learned a lot and met many different personalities, with people whom I trust and had many
great times. Also as growing up throughout high school
, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this is
not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can
give so many advices to just start off great at the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think
it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to surround
yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you
will see how far you got by being surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you
concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also, joining more clubs
and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT
procrastinate, I have done it so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing
so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good grades, and ask

The Journey Of The Moon Essay
The journey to the moon was not an easy journey. The commitment to get to the moon was a hard
fought battle that took many years and many sacrifices along its glorious path. There were failures
but there was also one giant success. The trip was not one that was done alone. There were many
people that put endless hours into the hope that one day we would make it to the moon
. At the time
nobody had ever accomplished such a feat. A feat that seemed impossible to most except for the
people running the show of NASA and of course the President of the United States at the time,
President Kennedy. He was a big supporter of the idea to get to the moon and expand our knowledge
beyond the earth and to learn what is truly out there. To learn if we could gain materials from the
moon or maybe even inhabit the moon someday. Although no human has ever landed on the moon at
the time, John F. Kennedy challenged the people of the United States to reach the moon before the
decade was over. The start of the moon landing was not simple. It took many years to develop the
type of technology and to test the services of all the materials and even the astronauts that would be
on board of the space craft during the mission. The first missions to take place that were to send men
out of the earth's atmosphere were the Apollo missions. The first Apollo mission to take place was
Apollo 1. Apollo 1 was set to take off into the air on February 21, 1967 but during a test launch on
January 27, 1967 a

me. "What?" I said,

My Reflection Of My Academic Journey In College
I have changed a lot over the last two years. Relationships and attitudes have come and gone.
However, I have always enjoyed learning. The pursuit of knowledge continues to be important to me
and I feel like I have learned a lot in my college experience so far. My academic journey has shaped
the way I look at myself, my moral understandings, and my view of happiness. In recent years, I
have come to the conclusion that I am most definitely a creator. I enjoyed making items in high
school and earlier, but I have realized in college that it is an essential part of who I am. Furthermore,
to be a good creator, one must be a good critic. In my Honors seminars and other courses, we have
read and analyzed many great works. The knowledge gained

Nothing can be perfect, but I strive for all of my works to be the closest it can get. I know now for
sure that I am creator and it is what I always want to be. I believe I have become a better person
over the last two years. Or, at least, as good as I will get. I have a lot more respect for other people
than I used to. Before, I only surrounded myself with people that I thought would be useful later. It
seems so horrible now. I went to a very large high school. People came in and out of my life at a
rapid pace. There were several people at my graduation that I had not seen in years. I thought they
literally dropped off the face of the Earth or just moved. There was little need to be a good person to
people, because you would often never see them again. Here, I no longer have that luxury. I mean,
that is good. It is now necessary to have a good relationship with people. I think it has certainly
helped to have a group of classmates every year who have a common goal. Another conclusion I
have drawn from my last few years is that every person has a moral obligation to be as
knowledgeable as possible. My biggest pet peeve is stupid people who think they are smart. We are
in the shape we are in today because of these people. I wish people would just admit when they do
not know something. I do. I would never be seen entering a conversation about molecular biology
and acting like an expert. I

The Hero's Journey Essay
People react to experiences based on what they have been previously exposed to. This is why
patience, good listening skills, understanding and respect are what I aspire to teach by example;
along with the magic of music. My plan is to do this while being a great, multi–culturally
competent, elementary school music teacher. What a mouth full, but that's the goal! Western would
be a great school for me. I have turned tragedy into something positive and feel like I would be
coming to your school prepared with a good amount of experience. In the middle–class, white
family I grew up with, giving my parents grandchildren was expected. I never questioned this
expectation and often thought of the important lessons I would teach my future children. In my
twenties, I experienced health issues that could only be solved by a full

Studying "The Hero's Journey" in English class reminded me about how our lives are shaped by our
choices and how we choose to respond to what is out of our control. I was reminded about how
small and almost insignificant the human race is when compared to the information we have about
the Universe in astronomy class. Now I know what my dad always meant when he said, "Don't
sweat the small stuff." During multi–cultural studies, I was reminded no matter how insignificant we
may be in the long run, we are significant now and respect should be a birth right. I had multiple
chances to observe teachers in the classroom during the early education courses and in addition to
studies I also got to perform on my instruments! I performed on the flute in the school band, flute
and base flute in three wind ensembles, and performed solos on the flute, piano and guitar. I have
never been more proud of myself and confident in what I have to offer this world. I am a talented
musician with a strong passion for sharing this art to children and being of guidance to them as they

My Personal Journey Essays
Journeys are moments in life that define and reconstruct the myths we create about ourselves and
others. All too often the ideals of a biased community or select group are viewed as the model by
which all individuals must follow. To escape the pressures of a collective standard a person must
travel outside the constraints of a community and discover his or her own true identity. On such a
journey one can expect moments of planned reflection or unexpected instances of revelation. A
journey is every minute of my existence, as I travel through life and try to ascertain my own
presence in its cycle.
An essential journey occurred three years ago when I set out on a personal pilgrimage. I wanted to
re–travel the time line of the past few

I had only been camping once or twice and even then it was with all the comforts of modern
camping gear. Was I ready for this?
As my guide paddled away I looked down at my feet and surveyed the few preparations which I had
brought. I had a sleeping bag; a tarp; a yard of string; two bags of food, which were little more than
fruits, nuts, and cheese; two canteens of warm water; and the clothes on my back, which I had
layered several deep. Before I would even attempt to sort through the real reasons why I had come
on this trip I decided to set camp.
As I looked about me, I saw that there was not one smooth area within a hundred yards. Because I
had to be within whistling distance of my guide, in case of an emergency, I could not wander off.
The first place I looked was the rocky stretch of beach. As I walked along looking for a small cave
or shelter I noticed dozens of minuscule creatures. These were not companions or friendly wild
animals but small biting sand fleas. Now I knew that no matter how much I wanted to assimilate
myself with nature there was a limit to my experience. I just couldn't envision myself happily
brushing off sand fleas all night so I decided to look up in the patch of evergreens that sheltered the
beach. After trudging through soggy moss and swampish soil I found two evergreens that stood
alone on a small cliff. I strung up my tarp to try and create the most comfortable

My Journey On My Spiritual Journey Essay
As I reflect back on my spiritual journey, I remember times of questioning God, praying in times of
need, and asking why certain things happen the way they do. My journey has brought me through
rough patches of my life and times of life learning lessons. Looking back at the past and up until
now, I was not the one to attend church every Sunday and pray before every meal. I questioned
some of the ways my church wanted us to learn about God
. I even questioned God about certain
events in life and why they happened. I look back on this as a way to show me how learning from
God and about him is not always done in a church. As I make my way through nursing school, I
have also learned that many individuals turn to their spirituality, find their faith, or pray that their
belief will bring them comfort. My spiritual journey has taught me lessons of each these through
good and bad times. My spiritual journey was not perfect and I am still learning from it. This
journey has taken me through good times in my life and some really rough times in my life. The bad
times never stopped me from changing my faith in God or staying mad at him. I have always
learned in church, Sunday school, and church camps that God has a plan for everyone. Those plans
will not be perfect and will not be easy. These plans will teach me about life and who I am becoming
today. At the beginning of this journey, I had no clue about my faith in God. At this time in my life, I
was around the age of five and was
