MCCG222 – Advanced CPT and HCPCS Level II Coding Portfolio Project Directions and Rubrics
This Portfolio Project is worth 15% of your overall grade. Completing this Assessment will help you to meet the following:
Course Outcome
Abstract and apply the advanced CPT and HCPCS level II classification requirements in accordance with the official coding guidelines.
Program Outcome
Abstract information from medical charts to assign the correct diagnosis (ICD-10), procedure (CPT) and supply (HCPCS Level II) code in a variety of medical situations.
Institutional Outcomes
Information Literacy and Communication - Utilize current technology and resources to locate and evaluate information needed to accomplish a goal, and then communicate findings in visual, written and/or oral formats.
Relational Learning
- Transfer knowledge, skills, and behaviors acquired through formal and informal learning and life experiences to new situations.
Thinking Abilities - Employ strategies for reflection on learning and practice in order to adjust learning processes for continual improvement.
Community and Career - Participate in social, academic, and professional communities for individual growth and to function as a citizen of a multicultural world.
Quantitative and Scientific Reasoning
- Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions. Scenario
You are a physician's office Coding Educator for Premier Medical Group. As a Coding Educator, you are responsible for onboarding new Certified Coders. Certified Coders review patient records, identify what information they need to abstract from the documentation, and then assign the correct code(s) to that information. One of the important reasons for accurate assignment is to ensure that services rendered are reimbursed appropriately. As a Coding Educator, you have been tasked with creating a coding training aid for new Certified Coders that will contain codes for a patient's diagnosis, procedures completed, and drugs and supplies used. To create this training aid, you must review the provided patient's records, assign appropriate codes, and provide rationale as to why the selections were made. Directions
For this project, you will review a patient's records, which will be provided in Blackboard over the next several weeks, and you will identify diagnosis codes, procedural codes, and drug and supply codes when applicable. You will record the identified codes in the Coding Template, which you will download in Blackboard. Each week, you will add additional codes to this

You are an engineer working on a project and your prototype has failed prematurely. You question whether or not a key component of the prototype was manufactured with the correct material. There are two way to check for the material properties. The first way is to have a material certification done to confirm the exact material composition. This will take some time. The second method to confirm the material properties is to make an ASTM test sample and test for the material properties. This tensile test was completed on a test sample with an initial diameter of .501” and an initial length of 2”. The Load-Deflection data for this tensile test is below. Use this data to answer the first set of questions on the Final Exam in eLearning. A. Determine the Ultimate Tensile Strength B. Determine the 0.2% Offset Yield Strength C. Determine the value of the Proportional Limit D. Determine the Modulus of Elasticity E. Determine the Strain at Yield F. Calculate %…

You are assigned as the head of the engineering team to work on selecting the right-sized blower that will go on your new line of hybrid vehicles. The fan circulates the warm air on the inside of the windshield to stop condensation of water vapor and allow for maximum visibility during wintertime (see images). You have been provided with some info. and are asked to pick from the bottom table, the right model number(s) that will satisfy the requirement. Your car is equipped with a fan blower setting that allow you to choose between speeds 0, 1,2 and 3. Variation of the convection heat transfer coefficient is dependent upon multiple factors, including the size and the blower configuration. You can only use the following parameters:

A Team of Engineers asked for an internal combustion engine to use it in a designed car. Your role is to describe the operation sequence of different types of available engines, explain their mechanical efficiency, and deliver a detailed technical report to show your approach in solving and discussing the following tasks and issues.
You must follow the following steps to help the team:
STEP 1
Describe the operational sequence of four-stroke spark ignition and four-stroke compression ignition engines with the aid of sketches by constructing simple sketch representing the operation and plotting the P-V diagrams for each process during the cycle to show the following:
The input and output heat and net output work
The expansion and compression strokes
The air-fuel mixture intake and exhaust gasses
The spark plug when it is in the active mode
The complete cycle of ideal Otto and Diesel cycles that shows the input and output heat and net output work.

Problem Description (CCOs #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12)
A water tank of radius R = 1.8m with two outlet pipes of radius r₁ = 0.05m and r2 installed at heights h₁ = 0.13m
and h₂ = 1m, is mounted in an elevator moving up and down causing a time dependent acceleration g(t) that must be
modeled as
g(t) = go+a1 cos(2π f₁t) + b₁ sin(2π f₁t) + a2 cos(2π f₂t) + b₂ sin(2π f₂t),
