Question One Do you agree that Whirlpool can realize a competitive advantage through its diverse employees? Yes, I totally concur that Whirlpool's diversified workforce gives it a competitive advantage. The varied workforce at Whirlpool offers the company several advantages and benefits. First off, a diverse staff offers a variety of perspectives, experiences, and ideas. Each person offers their own background and perspective, which can help us understand the demands and preferences of Whirlpool's varied customer base more thoroughly. Griffin (2016) emphasizes the value of diversity in decision-making, claiming that diverse teams are more likely to encourage innovation and produce novel ideas. Whirlpool can better understand and meet the demands of its clients by utilizing the varied experience and viewpoints of its staff, ultimately giving the business a competitive edge and a varied staff also improves Whirlpool's ability to innovate and produce new products. Griffin (2016) emphasizes that variety fosters creativity because it exposes people from various backgrounds to various methods of problem-solving. Whirlpool may access a multitude of unique ideas and insights by hiring people from a variety of backgrounds, which paves the way for the creation of ground-breaking products and services. This helps Whirlpool maintain an advantage over rivals in the quickly changing home appliance sector, thus enhancing its competitive advantage. Furthermore, Griffin (2016) underlines the value of diversity in creating an inclusive organizational culture. When people from various backgrounds get together, they bring with them a range of skills and various ways of approaching problems. Employees can learn from one another and use their own capabilities to solve complex problems because of the diversity of their perspectives and abilities. Question Two How else can technology be used to enhance Whirlpool’s culture of inclusion?
Whirlpool's inclusive culture can be strengthened in several ways through the use of technology. For instance, the business can develop online communities or forums where staff members can communicate, exchange ideas, and work together regardless of where they are physically located. Additionally, heterogeneous teams can work together more easily by using virtual meetings or video conferencing to promote communication. Whirlpool may be able to offer flexible work schedules to employees through the use of technology in order to meet their varied needs. Question Three Do you feel that Whirlpool’s efforts to create a culture of inclusion are worthwhile? Explain your answer. The particular steps and results of Whirlpool's efforts to foster an inclusive culture will determine whether they were successful. Promoting an inclusive culture, however, can generally offer several advantages. It can boost employee satisfaction and engagement, increase retention rates, and boost the organization's productivity and innovation. Additionally, Whirlpool can better understand its varied client base and meet their requirements by having a diverse and inclusive team. Furthermore, Whirlpool may gain a competitive edge in the market by embracing diversity and encouraging inclusiveness and customer happiness, brand loyalty, and reputation can all be enhanced by the business by identifying and satisfying the many requirements and desires of its clients. Customers are drawn to businesses that respect diversity and are more likely to support those that align with their own beliefs in today's increasingly diverse and connected society.
