To be honest, not entirely as I wasn’t able to locate the practice sheets while following along to the presentation. I also am a very slow learner when it comes to excel and pivot tables etc. I must do it while being shown and take as much time as possible in order to completely get it down. I struggled tremendously when learning excel prior to this course and find myself struggling more learning on my own. I currently believe my recommendation on a strategic plan is exactly what the organization needs as it is not one sole method for execution, it is a combination of both radical and discontinuous. Though, the only concern I have is with the organization’s culture and norms as people are not encouraged to go outside of the constraints of their position. The culture also doesn’t allow for or make others feel as though they are able to contribute ideas as there are individual decision makers responsible for any action wanting to be initiated within the organization. Additionally, the organization is frugal with resources, not allowing for outside or non-approved resources be utilized with being reviewed/approved by decision makers of the organization. The competitors are taking an incremental approach to their innovations as the artmobile market and its competitors have been doing for centuries. Though, prospects reveal that non-traditional competitors will be entering with radical ideas and innovations. Business conditions such as its culture must change to an environment that encourages and allows for individuals to collaborate and share information/knowledge with team members of all levels; where autonomy is allotted to employees. If needed to adjust, the organization is already pursuing a combination of both discontinuous and incremental innovation, depending on environmental factors, the organization can continue with incremental “updates” while exerting appropriate efforts on radical or discontinuous innovations that may derive from incremental updates.
