Rough Draft Author’s Note 1. Topic: Develop a Formal Employee Recognition Program 2. Steps taken: The steps I took to write this Persuasive Proposal Rough draft was to create an outline first to make sure I was thoroughly explaining all my ideas before writing the essay. After that, I ran the writing through Grammarly to make sure it was all grammatically correct. 3. Strategies used: I did my research first before I wrote my paper since that was the basis of what I needed to talk about. From there I followed the outline of the email format and composed my email. 4. Feedback desired: I would like feedback on my rebuttal since I did not mention a lot to go with it. I am just wondering if it is too short or if I should elaborate more on it. Final Draft Author’s Note 1. Topic: Develop a Formal Employee Recognition Program 2. Status of draft: After receiving the feedback I did from my peers, I was able to change the wording of my sentences to make them more persuasive, and I added another source to ensure I had three. 3. Strategies used: One of the strategies I used that I found helpful was making sure that I was reading my email proposal out loud to make sure it made sense. I also made sure to add more sentences around my facts, so it did not seem choppy. 4. Assessment: I think that compared to my rough draft, this draft is much better and conveys more persuasion. I also made sure to run it through Grammarly once again to fix any errors I could have missed. 5. Feedback desired: I believe the most useful thing I could use as feedback would be more about my rebuttal when it comes to something where the pros outweigh the cons heavily. I mentioned the feeling of being left out, but was that enough?
TO: Samuel Evans SUBJECT: Employee Recognition Program Dear Mr. Evans: I have noticed that some of our employees have reached significant milestones in their employment at this company, and I think we should take the time to celebrate them. Doing this can encourage other colleagues to want to stay longer to receive the praise. After researching if this would be a good idea to implement a program in our business, I found that recent studies have shown that nine out of ten companies have an employee recognition program. The companies with the program have found the following benefits raised employee morale, increased productivity, and lowered turnover rates (Tetrick 2014). A lack of recognition is the second highest cause of workplace stress after workload (Saunderson 2016). With the focus on only a few employees at a time, we would have to make sure other workers do not feel left out. Those featured are about their accomplishments and not strictly evaluative attention (Daniel 2005). There have been more positive reasons to implement an employee recognition program than not, and I think we should move forward with the process. I would be able to come up with a program within the next week to implement it starting next month. The program itself should not be too time-consuming; it will just take time to quickly recognize the employee through an email or shoutout at a meeting. Overall, I think this will be an excellent way to help improve our company and how we go about business. I appreciate you taking the time to review this email and hope you consider implementing the program. Sincerely, Kaitlyn Pope Kaitlyn Pope Kaitlyn Pope General Manager
