Leaders are viewed as the key players whose choices and actions shape the attitudes, actions, and output of their followers. This approach is not leader-centered. While the leader plays a crucial role in adapting their style, the situational approach focuses more on follower needs and task demands. The leader acts as a chameleon, adjusting to get the best out of their team. What are the implications of this theory (or approach) on the leader? For example, how is it (or, is it not) leader-centered, and what does it tell us about the leader and/or the leader’s part in the process of leadership? Follower This approach recognizes that followers' reactions to a leader's actions ultimately determine how effective the behavior is. When deciding on proper behaviors, leaders must take their followers' needs, preferences, and reactions into account. As a result, even though leader behaviors may receive more attention, meeting followers' demands is the main objective. This approach focuses on adjusting to the follower's skill level and level of dedication to a particular assignment. The leader puts their own needs and growth ahead of a one-size-fits-all strategy.

This approach recognizes that the dynamic character of a situation can affect a leader's performance. Leaders may need to show flexibility, adaptability, and swift decision- making in dynamic situations that are marked by change, uncertainty, or crisis. Leaders may take on a more dependable and constant style of leadership in settings that are static, with stable conditions and well- defined goals. What are the implications of this theory (or approach) on the context? For example, how does the theory (or approach) characterize the situation surrounding the leader- follower relationship (i.e., formal or informal, social or work, dynamic or static, emergency or routine, complex or simple, task-oriented, relationship-oriented, etc.). Process This approach to leadership places a strong emphasis on the role that particular behaviors and actions play during the leadership process. Leading others toward common objectives by modeling directive, encouraging, interactive, and goal-oriented actions is a key component of effective leadership. This approach highlights how crucial it is to modify leadership techniques to meet the unique requirements of the circumstance and the followers. A dynamic and cooperative process is necessary for effective leadership, in which followers and leaders cooperate to accomplish common objectives while exchanging advice, encouragement, and criticism in order to succeed.
