Hello Professor and Class, The first situation where the application of a collaborative strategy might be beneficial in managing conflict is the cultural competency training. Healthcare companies often employ a very open diverse workforce, which includes individuals from different backgrounds. Conundrums may arise due to possible misunderstandings or a shortage of cultural sensitivity(Toll, Cultural competency training: 6 keys 2024) . The implementation of collaborative strategies include cultural competency training for employment can help improve understanding as well as the mutual respect among employees. By promoting open door policies and educating employees about the different cultural norms and practices, healthcare workers can amplify their ability to provide patient centered care and work effectively with their peers from those diverse backgrounds. Through the implementation of cultural competency training for all employees, the company demonstrates a commitment to understanding and respecting the diverse cultural backgrounds of both its workforce and as well as the patients that are being served. This training can foster an inclusive environment where employees are equipped to provide culturally sensitive care and interact with peers from various backgrounds. The second situation falls under the category of competitive strategy. This strategy is known as resource allocation. Healthcare organizations often face obstacles in allocating limited resources, such as funding, employees, and equipment. In certain situations where there is competition for resources, a competitive strategy may be very beneficial. For example, when making the determination on budges allocations, departments might need to advocate for their essentials and demonstrate the impact of their services on patient care. While collaboration is deemed essential in many aspects of healthcare, a healthy level of competition can drive departments and organizations to innovate, improve efficiency, and demonstrate the value of their contributions. When activating the competitive strategy in resource allocation, the company can ensure that all departments have the opportunity to advocate for resources in a fair and inclusive manner. By providing a blueprint for departments to present their necessities and demonstrate the value of their
services, the organization can foster a sense of inclusivity as well as equity in the distribution of resources. Keonte Gaddis 1. Toll, E. (2024, January 27). Cultural competency training: 6 keys . Diversity Resources. https://www.diversityresources.com/cultural-competency- training-6-keys/
