The Multicultural Management in Global Projects: Challenges and Possibilities. Introduction The core of multicultural management in business revolves around adopting an outlook of the individual training required to manage cultural diversity in the business domain. Multicultural management aims at dealing with members who belong to diverse sectors. Multicultural management in business is essential for smooth operations. Special training is needed to manage the diversity and fulfil the goals of the Organisations. People from diverse backgrounds come with diverse thinking and working styles which can hinder the operations of international nature. Hence, the best way to mitigate it is to adopt the multicultural management process in global projects. Multicultural management in global projects can be helpful to get knowledge on the different work rotations, product markets and customer needs. The primary reasons which cause uncertainty in global projects are due to the difference in attitudes and approaches. Multicultural management is essential to achieve effective business outcomes. Aims and Objectives Aim The research aims at studying the various challenges and possibilities for maintaining the multicultural management in the global projects. Research objectives The objectives of the research are as follows: Exploration of the varied concepts existing in multicultural management in the global projects’ domain.
Explores the varied possibilities that exist in multicultural managements environment in global projects. Identifies the varied challenges which exists in the multicultural environment in global projects. Research Questions The following research questions are: What is the meaning of multicultural management in global projects? What are the various opportunities that exists in multicultural management about global projects? What challenges exist in multicultural management in the global project’s domain? Literature review The multicultural challenges in the management of global projects lead to the extension in the scope of dissimilar challenges. The rising insecurities that exist in the global domain result from cross-cultural conditions, especially in foreign environments, and the multicultural teams and stakeholders from varied cultures work in different ways and possess different working styles. The global projects are carried out faster, and hence it is essential to manage these multicultural teams in a short period. Possibilities of Multicultural Management in Global Project When project managers take up multicultural teams, they will work on certain problems which act as stumbling blocks for the smooth transition of global projects. Communication barriers are one of the biggest threats in this domain. Moreover, they have different styles of working and ideas. However, it is noteworthy to know that working with a diverse workforce has people from different backgrounds, and their contributions are highly valuable to make better decisions. A wide range of perspectives of people from different backgrounds accumulates in significant outputs and helps achieve the business goals. Hence when recruiting employees, the firm should discard based on caste, creed, and other prejudices. They should focus on finding the best applicants. Managing Global Teams
As per the Project Management Body of Knowledge, the Human Resources management in the management of the global projects must ensure training of the team to ensure that all team members have developed abilities and interactions to work in a diverse group and improve the performance of the project. Intercultural Competency Management Before the experiences of engaging with people from other cultural backgrounds in global projects, other factors include travel; to foreign lands, interest in international works, and new experiences. All factors play a key role, and the people must have openness to these when being hired as competent for global projects. Intercultural skills, cultural intelligence, global perspective, cultural adaptability, and minimal ethnocentrism are all key aspects to consider in global projects. Key Findings Multicultural management in global projects helps the researcher develop an idea regarding multicultural management in global projects. The foreign environment and clear methods of rational business processes and individuals of different cultures are special in the predictability of global initiatives. Cross-cultural management in global projects will involve managing complementary supplies as well as project execution and process management.
