How do you respond to a manager with a High-Mach personality orientation approach? What are the positives and negatives of a High-Mach manager in organizational culture? Managers with a High-Mach personality orientation approach are hard to deal with. They are hard to deal with because as stated in Chapter 3, “logically and thoughtfully do not respond to persuasion and have little regard for the opinions of others.’’(Vito, G. F., Reed, J. C., & More, H. W, 2019). In other words this type of manager is all about themselves and what benefit it will bring them. For instance they are the ones that want to be able to control the situation and the outcome. And they want to be able to win in their situation because it has to go their way. Chapter 3 states, “High-Machs are usually convincing liars and are adept at identifying weaknesses in others.” (Vito, G. F., Reed, J. C., & More, H. W, 2019). High-Mach managers are hard to budge with based on the negative that comes out of it. Having a High-Mach manager in organizational cultures comes with its positives and negatives. Just like any job and having a manager people are going to deal with the good and the bad. Not every manager is for the person or the company but for themselves. The negative in this culture is that they won't allow emotions to get into the way. And in Chapter 3 states, “High-Machs feel no guilt as they manipulate others for personal gain.”(Vito, G. F., Reed, J. C., & More, H. W, 2019). They are known to do the least amount of work with no concern at all. And the positive towards this culture is that they need things their way. They are ones to win and will not take a non win for their own benefit. They also will fight for what they believe in. High-Mach manager in organizational approach are hard but yet can be rewarding depending on what they are fighting for. Citation Vito, G. F., Reed, J. C., & More, H. W. (2019).
