How do you know there’s a lack of accountability on your team? Unclear responsibilities- Number one reason is the unclear responsibilities among the team members. There are few people in the team members those who aren’t aware about what they are doing in the team. There are no clear goals and neither the direction, which makes it tougher for them to stay focused [ CITATION Dar20 \l 1033 ]. Poor communication- The next thing is poor communication with the team members which results in lack of engagement among the members which easily causes lack of accountability within the team members. Poor productivity- When the team members starts avoiding the deadlines, or ensure less work within the team then this thing starts ensuring lack of accountability among the team. Lack of efforts by the members or when the actions are not up to the mark also are some of the major reasons. 5 Ways to solve a lack of accountability on your team Clear Objectives and Expectations- The team members should be aware of their purpose or aim and what exactly is going on in the team by which they can be able to work collectively. Follow-up- The leader of the team should always go for the follow-up by which he will come to know whether the efforts are up to the mark or not. Assign responsibilities- For the team-meetings everyone should be responsible for demonstrating new ideas or solutions to the problems [ CITATION Sha211 \l 1033 ]. In short the whole team must have at least this much power to contribute.
No group goals- Every individuals must be provided with their own individual goals upon which they need to work. It will make everyone in the team accountable for their own work. Reward- At last, make sure to reward or appreciate employees in front of the others, which will encourage him as well as the others too to work with full accountability within the team.
