Being near a
high school has
its perks since
it will keep a
young presence
in the facility.
It is located in a
decent location
on the main
street.
Keeping the
building well
maintained is a
must for the
long run of the
business.
Having the
same staff is
always a bonus
seems to make
people feel a
sense of
welcoming.
The fact that it is
not within walking
distance of the
train may make it
more difficult.
The locker rooms
being small could
pose an issue
depending on how
many
subscriptions the
business allows at
any given time.
Offering more
classes would
help bring in
some business.
Having to
purchase a 6-
month
membership
without the
possibility of
maybe getting at
least a day pass
to try it out seems
a little harsh and
could make some
people not want
to give it a try.
Social media such
as Tik Tok, Twitter,
Instagram, and
Facebook would
poses a plethora of
opportunity.
It not only would
give you a wider
reach it would help
you get those who
live in the city and
just do not know
you are here.
Also being close to
the local high school
having social media
would attract
attention from those
close as well.
Being on main
street is an
advantage with
setting signs up
outside maybe even
hosting an event
giving everyone
with or without a
membership access
to attend.
Mainly the
pool on the
other end of
town would
attract some
potential
clients.
Having to
take a bus
because it is
not within
walking
distance
could also
pose a
threat to
business.
Not being
on social
media holds
a huge
threat
mainly
because no
one knows
the place
exists.
Including a
juice/coffee bar
is a fantastic
idea.
Having the
There could be
things the
competitor is
doing such as
social media.
Host an event on a
day that would
normally be a slow
traffic day.
Open to the public
Lack of
coverage of
these
events or
deals would
be negative
same friendly
staff gives
extra comfort
to those who
attend
regularly.
Also, they could
be hosting open
to the public
events. With a fee
of course to those
who do not have a
membership.
for a fee once or
twice a month.
Offer a deal for
getting the 6-month
membership
Social media
can have
positive
along with
negative
feedback
Having the
same staff
consistently
helps cut costs
on having to
train.
Having staff
that have been
there also helps
to cut back on
simple
mistakes.
The resources are
limited because
there is no online
presence.
Not being within
walking distance
of the train is
presenting an
issue.
Not brining in new
staff can also
hinder due to the
fact that no new
ideas are being
brought in.
The world is ever
changing bringing in
new ideas and
people is a plus.
Getting an online
presence is
essential to keeping
the business going.
Hosting an event
and having a
feedback table
about what it is the
members would like
to see happen or be
added would be
beneficial.
Having a
live chat
would be
good.
New staff
would also
be
beneficial in
a way that
maybe
some
members do
not get
along with
those
already
there.
Being more
available to
the
customer is
essential.
Making sure the
technology is
up to date is
critical in
keeping
customer
information
secure along
with just being
up to date.
There really is no
marketing going
on with the way
things are being
run at this time.
Hiring a person
who knows the ins
and outs of
marketing would
help.
The social media
outlet would do
nothing but help the
business.
Not being in
walking
distance of
the train
bringing
people in
can be
detrimental
to the
business.

An Executive Information System (ESS) is a type of dedicated management information
system for the highest-level executives. An ESS gathers and analyzes data from several different
sources to generate immediate reports and dashboards. This helps executives observe and see the
key performance indicators, identify trends, and this in turn allows them to make informed
decisions in a timely manner.
For example, the CEO of a company could use an ESS to monitor
sales figures, analyze market share data, and evaluate the efficacy of marketing promotions.
(
Leidner, 93/94).
A Decision Support System (DSS) is an information system that helps managers to make
more informed decisions. A DSS system uses complex analytical models to assess large amounts
of data from numerous sources and organize it in an important way. DSS has interactive
interfaces that allow users to discover different scenarios, perform "what-if" analysis, and gauge
the potential outcomes for numerous alternatives. For example, a financial manager may use a
DSS to evaluate the different investment options based on the different assumptions. (
Andry,
2023).
A Management Information Systems (MIS) is a computerized system that collects,
processes, stores, and distributes information required by managers. MIS provides regular reports
and summaries taken from structured data along with being collected from various operational
systems. MIS supports management functions such as planning, organizing, controlling, and
decision-making. It does this by providing accurate information in a timely manner. An example
of MIS would be something such as an inventory management system. One that generates
regular reports on stock levels, reorder points, and supplier performance. (
Elrod
, 2022).
A Transaction Processing System (TPS) is a computer-based system that shows detailed
information about day-to-day business transactions. These include sales orders, payments, and
inventory updates. TPS verifying and logging transactions in real-time, ensures accuracy,
entirety, and timeliness of data. It supports essential business functions such as order processing,
billing, and payroll processing and is critical for organizations.
For example, a store such as
Marshall’s point-of-sale system that records sales transactions and updates inventory levels can
be considered a TPS.
(
Takahara
, 2005).
Artificial Intelligence (AI) are machines simulating human intelligence. AI simulates
human intelligence to enable the machines to perform tasks that require some intelligence.
Expert Systems are a subset of AI that solves multi-step problems or could possibly provide
expert advice in specific areas. AI is mimicking the human decision-making process. For
example, a medical diagnosis system could use AI along with skilled system technologies to
analyze the patient’s symptoms and medical history. Then it could research all the sources
available to suggest any potential diagnoses along with treatment options constructed by cases
that were similar. (SR, 2023).
