Increase in U.S. tourists falling ill suddenly and without clear explanation The threat risk for this type of intelligence is likely. Tourists falling ill suddenly, especially without a clear explanation, could indicate bioterrorism. Things that could be causing the illness include anthrax, disease (like Ebola or Covid-19), etcetera. Increase in the radicalization of locals The threat risk for this type of intelligence is likely. Radicalization of locals could lead to hate and plans to harm the United States. Examples of this leading to terrorism are the radicalization of people in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria. This led to the 9/11 attacks. Sports team’s fans rioting in the streets to celebrate winning the championship The threat risk for this type of intelligence is unlikely. Sports team fans rioting in the streets is not a long-lasting event. It usually stops after a few hours. It is celebratory and usually only causes minor damage to buildings and cars. A severe economic downturn leads to an increase in poverty and crime. This can leave the United States vulnerable to attacks and espionage. A surge of immigration, especially illegal immigration, leaves the U.S. vulnerable to attacks.
