age group.
b.
Who might need to use this information and why? What decision could be made
by using the statistics in your chosen area? (2 pts)
Healthcare professionals can use this information. I think that by using the cancer
statistics it can help prevent some cancers from getting too bad. It may help with
encouraging patients to get screened for cancer at a specific age.

Department Tables by Topic, click on ACS Hospitalizations.

include it in this document. (2 pts)

There were 104,166

births were there in 2020? (1 pt)
Detroit had
8,810 livebirths in 2020
c.
Find a table that includes age of the mother. What is the Infant Death rate
for mothers under the age of 20 years?
The infant death rate is 10.9
. Is the
rate higher or lower than the overall rate for all births in Michigan?
It is
lower than the number of births.
What might contribute to the higher rate?
I think that maybe it’s lack of prenatal care.

d.
What is the most surprising (or disturbing) statistic to you on this
visualization tool? Why? (2 pts)
It’s surprising that so many kids commit
suicide. What’s even more surprising to me that the top two ways that they
committed suicide was by suffocation and by firearm. I had some tough
times as a child, but I never wanted to harm myself.
