Hello class,
The stakeholders in the Acme Medical Center project are those who help guide healthcare
decisions and influence what services are offered by the organization. Generally speaking,
these stakeholders for medical facilities include doctors, patients, medical groups, clinical
practice setting bodies, and regulatory bodies. To look at the geography of Bastrop, Texas
where Acme medical center is located we can utilize global positioning systems (GPS), maps,
and global information systems (GIS). Moreover, during research I can use the Census Bureau
to gather information on socioeconomic characteristics and demographics in the area. To
gather information on local politics I will use public records and archive to record local, state
and federal government figures. Additionally, market analysis can be performed using local,
regional, and university libraries or through internet searches (Hudson, 2010). `Moreover, it's
imperative to identify the main healthcare needs within the area to gain a understanding of all
services the facility should provide. An important resource to reference is a community health
assessment. These assessments are being conducted nationwide by major health care providers
with local government to identify the overall health analysis of the area. Through the Bastrop
county community Health needs assessment, I am able to gather that depression, cancer,
obesity, hypertension and diabetes are the main healthcare needs in the Bastrop community.
Primarily, low-income and members of minority populations contributed to the prevalence of
these healthcare needs.
