One of the websites I have chosen to research is epic systems. I am very familiar with this healthcare software.
Epic's applications support functions related to patient care, including registration and scheduling; clinical systems for doctors, nurses, emergency personnel, and other care providers; systems for lab technologists, pharmacists, and radiologists; and billing systems for insurers.
The Electronic Medical Records system allows users to customize it according to their special needs and practice workflow. The main dashboard of Epic EMR system allows physicians to view patients’ charts and systematically document their findings. To increase the efficiency of charting, Epic EHR software is equipped with a Note Writer which allows physicians to
document important notes while charting. These notes can then be merged with the patient’s medical records for future reference.
I also researched MyChart for mobile applications. MyChart is a very popular application that patients use to keep track with medical information. Epic also partnered with MyChart. Epic MyChart Patient Portal Software provides health and visit summaries that can be viewed, downloaded and shared. Patients are also able to request copies of their medical records and other documents that can be downloaded to be referred at any time.
MyChart encourages to connect and share medical records with other health care organizations when it is required. The connecting and sharing features also allow the user to see which care providers have accessed their medical records, this gives a sense of control to the patient and makes him/her feel a valuable part in the health care process.
