Map of Venezuela (
Venezuela Maps & Facts
)
Venezuela's Current Economic Situation
There has been a tremendous decline in Venezuela's gross domestic product. Since the year 2014,
the country has experienced a constant decline of 31% in its gross domestic product due to
sections and the decline in oil prices which is the most exported product (
John, 8). Additionally,
the cost of living in Venezuela has extremely increased due to hyperinflation of 10,000%,
weakening the country's currency and leading to the adoption of the dollar. Efforts from the
government to improve the economy, such as price controls, have failed to stabilize the economy.

Humanitarian Conditions
Venezuela faces a lot of humanitarian crises which affect the majority of the population. For
instance, the country experienced a collapse in the healthcare system since there were not enough
healthcare workers and medicine for the people (
John, 7). Additionally, many citizens experience
food shortages since many people live below the poverty line and are unable to afford basic
necessities. This has resulted in an increase in security as many young people result into crimes
to cater to their basic needs.
Literacy Level
Venezuela has seventy-seven university, which has high enrolment and graduation rates. The
government provides free education to citizens to improve their decision-making abilities and
skills (
John, 9). The steady increase in graduation rate has increased the literacy level to 96%
since many people in the country are educated. Therefore, citizens in Venezuela are well
educated since the country has a high emphasis on education and people empowerment.
