SURNAME 1 Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Number Date Scene Rewrite in Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House Introduction The assessment considers scene four of Chapter 9 of the novel (Jackson 194). The descriptive scene looks at how things progressed after the final endeavor of Dr. Montague. The consideration looks at the team dispersing and pursuing other interests in life. No one is considered to be influenced by the events that took place in the Hill House. The refined consideration and my take on the story are about the following occurrences, having collected evidence of their interest. The research they were all subjected to needed to be defined, and only Dr. Montague has been referenced, only retiring as he waited to publish the scholarly works on the psychic phenomenon of the Hill House. Description The conversation between Mrs. Sanderson took a turn as she wished the company would have stayed longer; she had told the family lawyer. She did not mind the company; the environment had been so quiet before Dr. Montague and his crew arrived. The presentation of the situation was that Dr. Montague had underlying theories that needed to be investigated, and his team was becoming accustomed to the surroundings. The need to leave resulted from limited exposure, and they all needed a change of scenery. The collected data and events they had experienced were horrifying, yet made them more intrigued by the causation. Luke was terrified yet seemed determined to continue the mystery more than ever. Dr. Montague's interest grew considerably as
SURNAME 2 he considered contemporary theories of the phenomena of the Hill House. The original ideas paved the way for new scholarly considerations that needed to be investigated. Retiring was not an option now as he would lose access to the granted entitlement of the research. And the events unfolded as they took their sweet time spending as much time in the house. The House in the Hill stood tall amidst the brightly lit moon. Once gathering dust and cold, the neat floors looked fresh and clean. The horrifying silence was finally considered to vacate the premises. The hedges had overgrown, the fences had not been mended for long, and the lawn required serious hours of manpower. Yet the interior walls clicked and cracked as they settled into place. They, too, wondered how they had found a new resident. For it had been once defined that evil had descended on the place. But the occupants were curious about the said evil. The doors, once shut, could be opened again, for the Hill House was never silent again, and whoever walked in there would not walk alone again!
