2 Q1. Memorable scenes: Which scene or scenes from the film did you find the most memorable? Why? Contagion is an actual, unbelievable movie about a worldwide epidemic. It portrays frightening scenes showing how a new airborne virus spreads persistently in a short time. Shocking scenes are witnessed on how the virus enters the human species faster, and with no time, it is passed from one person to another. The situations are ostensibly similar to the frequent occurrences of influenza. The virus viewed in the “Contagion” is a mysterious one, resisting isolation and neglecting treatment. The movie by Steven Soderbergh is proficient at narrating the story through the lives of many personalities and the unplanned contacts with others. The onset of the film reveals a woman from Minneapolis moving from home to Hong Kong suddenly coughs. Afterward, her son dies. She then follows. Her husband, Mitch, is seemingly immune, is wondering in disbelieve that how come death could destroy his family abruptly. An inquiry discovers a secret visit made by Beth in Chicago, and it is evident that she did not contract the virus through sexual contact. The movie explains how the virus came from at the initial place and how scientists and researchers rush to find a perfect vaccine to prevent the virus. Q2: Similarities: What are some similarities between the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the pandemic depicted in Contagion? The virus depicted in the “Contagion” film has some similarities with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Both of them spread from one individual to another, especially people who come close in contact with one another. Both have large and small particles holding viruses that are ejected when individuals with the virus cough, sneezes, or talk. These particles can get quickly into the mouths or noses of close individuals and conceivably be inhaled into the lungs. In some settings, for instance, indoor surroundings covered by poor
3 aeration, small particles might spread longer than 6 feet and result in contamination. Both of the viruses can be extended by people who cannot show any symptoms, such as people with mild symptoms or asymptomatic. Even though one can get both viruses through inhalation, it may be possible for a person to get the virus by touching surfaces containing the virus and then touching your nose or mouth.
