Installation
Instructions
:
Using NMD90 3 conductor:
- Install cable from panel to dryer outlet
- Install cable panel to stove outlet
Be sure to install according to the CEC rules. (i.e., points of support, correct length of wire in box).
Connect to properly sized breakers in electrical panel.
Connect to appropriate receptacles.
Have instructor check and test you circuit(s).
Answer all questions for this lab listed below.

Questions
: State the CEC Rule number if the code book is used.
1.
What type and size of cable, and what size and type of breaker is used on a typical dryer
installation?
According to Rule 26-744 (2) of CEC, breaker size shall not exceed 30A and wire size is #10/3 NMD90 Cable (Romex).
2.
What type and size of cable, and what size and type of breaker can used on a stove installation?
According to Rule 26-744 (4) & (5) breaker size shall be between 40A to 50A. Wire size is #8/3 NMD90 cable (Romex)
3.
What are the “CSA configurations” for a dryer and range/stove receptacle? (Diagram 1-A)
Stove/Range: 14-50R
Dryer: 14-30R
4.
How is a stove receptacle U-ground slot oriented when installed?
According to Rule 26-744 (6) (c) of CEC, the U ground slot is oriented to either side.
5.
What is the maximum height a stove receptacle can be installed?
CEC Rule 26-744 (6) (a) states that the receptacle shall be installed at a height NOT exceeding 130 mm above the finished floor to the center of the receptacle.
