Identify the top three issues your writing specialist focused on in your rough draft (e.g., paragraph structure, proper use of quotations, thesis statement, etc.).
The feedback received from the writing specialist was valid, clear, and provided additional context on how I could make my paper even better. When it comes to the formatting of the paper, I did not receive any specific feedback. Which tells me that the paragraph structure, use of citations and references were formatted as required according to APA guidelines. The first
bit of feedback received was to provide an even clearer thesis, in which I explicitly state the main
idea of the paper. The second bit of feedback received was to provide a brief overview of the thesis at the beginning of the second paragraph, as to drive home the history of the topic. The last
few bits of feedback all tied to providing additional information pertaining to different points made throughout the paper. In doing this, I can add more depth and context to the main points of the paper. I was surprised by the feedback that regarding my thesis. I thought it was clear and provided a high level of information provided in the paper, however I can see how it could cause a lack of clarity. With that, I will work this week to adjust the thesis and implement the feedback provided. Describe what you learned from some of the feedback your writing specialist provided as explanations.
I learned that just because I thought I provided enough information, doesn’t mean that I truly did. And that there are ways to provide even more statistical data that will drive home the argument I am making. The feedback provided helps to identify areas for improvement, such as identifying key issues, organizing writing, and thorough analysis. The feedback will enhance my writing style, improve the essay's sound, and emphasize the points I'm trying to make, resulting in a stronger argument and a paper that effectively reflects my arguments.
Evaluate the usefulness of the paper review tool.
To be transparent, this was the first time I used the paper review tool, and after this class am 1 class away from graduating. With that being said, I wish I would have used the tool in my past classes, as I feel it would have allowed me to enhance and develop my writing style, even more than only receiving feedback from instructors, once the paper was graded. Throughout my time at UAGC, I have taken feedback provided from instructors and implemented, however this tool would have allowed me to get that feedback quicker, and without grades being impacted. With that, I will use this tool before submitting my final paper for this class, and I will use this tool in my next class. If I do decide to go back to school for my masters, I will reassess the tools provided by UAGC and utilize them more frequently. Identify Writing Center Video Tutorials

that you find most useful and explain why. Also, identify tutorial(s) you found least useful and explain why.
The video that I found the most useful was the Integrating Research tutorial. This tutorial reviews not only why and where to integrate research into your paper, but also the how. The most valuable best practice I took from the tutorial was the use of the I.C.E. method. The I.C.E. method stands for introduce, cite and explain. Using this method is a simple way to integrate

scholarly sources into the conversation. Additionally, it shows that the topic I am discussing, is one that scholars are having, and is a topic of research. The video that I found least useful is submitting a paper to the writing center. The reason I found this video the least useful is because to me, submitting a paper to the writing center was self-explanatory and not a hard process to follow. For other who are not technologically inclined,
I can see this as a useful resource, but for me it was not.
