resulting in a well-developed individualized education plan (IEP) that catered to the student's
unique needs and strengths. The team valued each other's opinions and ensured everyone
participated in making decisions. They also prioritized the student's perspective and needs, in
line with the "Model Code of Ethics for Educators (MCEE)," which emphasizes involving
students and families in decision-making whenever appropriate.
Furthermore, the team adhered to the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act (IDEA), as evidenced by their discussion of the student's performance levels,
development of quantifiable objectives, and consideration of special education programs. They
also meticulously documented the meeting and IEP, consistent with the MCEE's ethical
standards.
Overall, the IEP team in the film demonstrated a deep understanding of the IEP process
and ethical principles of professional practice. Their collaborative approach resulted in an IEP
that complied with IDEA guidelines, respected the student's and family's wishes, and catered to
the student's unique needs. This shows that the team was highly informed and skilled in IEP

In my classroom, I strive to incorporate my faith in diverse ways. One approach is to
assign a Bible passage each week, much like how many schools assign a character trait to focus
on each week. Throughout the week, we will discuss the scripture and its meaning to each child.
While verses may have a shared basic meaning, they can have different interpretations for
different people. Therefore, I will not force the children to participate in this activity as I respect
the educational system's norm of separating religion from education. If confident kids choose not
to discuss the passage for the week, I will provide them with a non-Biblical phrase to discuss
instead.
The quote that resonates with my aspiration to become a special education teacher is,
"Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands
the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be. – Rita
Pierson". I believe that as an educator, it is essential to encourage and motivate students to reach
their full potential while teaching them to treat everyone with kindness and respect, including
colleagues, parents, and students.
If a parent approaches me with a concern, I will respond calmly and respectfully, seeking
to understand the issue and offering assistance. I will encourage my students to show the same
respect to one another and urge them to support their friends who may be struggling. In addition
to reminding the children to live a life that honors God, I want to teach them how to live an
honorable life, respect their parents, serve others, and treat everyone with kindness. While I
understand that not all students may share my perspective, they must learn the importance of
loving others, acting morally, and living a good life.
One of my favorite inspirational quotes for teachers states, "The best teachers are those
who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see." (Alexandra K. Trenfor, American
University, 2018). This quote aligns with the author's teaching philosophy of encouraging
students to think for themselves and interpret information in their way. By assigning a Bible
passage each week and encouraging discussion, the author provides a framework for students to
explore and develop their interpretations of the scripture. Additionally, by allowing students to
opt out of these discussions and providing alternative topics for discussion, the author empowers
students to choose their learning path.
In conclusion, an educator must create a safe and inclusive learning environment where
students can feel comfortable expressing their beliefs and ideas. By incorporating diverse
approaches in the classroom, such as assigning Bible passages and encouraging discussions,
teachers can provide students with opportunities to develop their critical thinking skills, foster
their individuality, and respect others' beliefs. Furthermore, by emphasizing the importance of
treating everyone with kindness and respect, educators can instill essential life skills that will
benefit their students throughout their lives. Ultimately, teaching is not just about imparting
knowledge; it is about nurturing the growth and development of young minds to become
confident, compassionate, and empathetic individuals.

Hello Mesha,
The tone of Amy's mother was becoming more agitated. However, the instructor was able to
steer the conversation back on track by acknowledging her concerns and assuring her that they
would discuss it further. It is understandable for parents to feel frustrated because they want to
provide their children with the best educational opportunities. They need to know that their child
is being cared for and their concerns are being taken seriously. Additionally, the principal's
decision to print the condensed page and make it available to everyone was a positive move. As
someone still learning about this, I can empathize with the need to break off a conversation.
Providing everyone with the same information was a kind gesture that leveled the playing field.

Hello Teresa,
Considering your meeting description, it appeared well organized, and the team appeared to be
adequately prepared. This video shows how a facilitated IEP should be conducted, and it would
be helpful to share it with colleagues in the future. As a result of the visuals and handouts used,
everyone was engaged and focused, resulting in a smooth and efficient meeting with everyone
being able to express themselves without talking over one another. Even though the mother was
initially agitated, the team members successfully diffused the situation and created an
atmosphere of support and positivity. It was encouraging to hear the mother's compliments
towards the team members, and her confidence in Amy's success in the classes she was taking
was a sign that the team members were doing a good job.

Hello Niara,
Essentially, a group of adults works together to encourage, inspire, and educate kids while
pursuing their academic goals. It takes consistent work to keep improving. There will be
obstacles, setbacks, and sound and terrible days on the path to achievement. As a teacher or
administrator, you should know that not all students are the same, and their learning styles differ.
The duty of looking out for, guiding, and counseling my students and family is consistent. Thus,
as their educator, I can provide a baseline understanding that I am there for them to provide
support and guidance.
