Technology Education Self Assessment 1/18/2024
Quality Vs. Quantity: Choosing your back-to-school apps. (Burns, M 2016)
Since I haven't started my teaching profession yet, I chose this article in part because of my lack of teaching experience. My expertise in teaching is restricted to what I learned in high school and how we were instructed at the time. It is essential that I adapt to the changes and real-
ize that teaching is more than just getting up in front of a group of kids and imparting knowledge
in this day and age, when technology has taken over.
Student choice is a concept that really appealed to me since, as the essay mentioned, it basically allows you to persuade the students to accept the idea. When your kids are responsible for both the original idea and the finished product, they are learning at a higher level. Since every
student gets the chance to express their opinions about how they are learning, this approach may be leveraged to get the most engagement out of your class.
This post has provided me with various approaches and ways to connect with my students
should I have the good fortune to become a teacher; thus, I found it to be quite informative. Hav-
ing a technological toolkit, as the article suggests, will help me improve my classes and reach my
students in a manner that will facilitate their learning and help them achieve their objectives.
Tips for Integrating Tools at the Start of School. (Provenzano, N. 2013)
I selected this article because it serves as a helpful reminder that not all content needs to be released right away in order to properly reach your intended audience. One of the things I dis-
covered while managing soldiers is that while tools and technology can be a great help with training and education, having too much of a good thing can sometimes slow down the learning process. You can delay introducing more tools until they fully grasp the first one by introducing them gradually. Recognize that time is of the essence, but don't let that stop you from taking your
time. I now understand that it's best not to press the matter. Every instructor should be aware that while some tools may be beneficial to some, they can frequently be a hindrance to others. It's not always the case that the instruments are defective or that students aren't learning effectively just because they're not functioning at the moment. Perhaps that tool is better fit for a different class. It's understanding your environment and those you are teaching which will assist you in ensuring that you are using the proper tools at the proper time.
The most essential lesson I took away from this post is to be patient. By being patient, you can ensure that you are employing the correct tools at the right moment, which will benefit you as a teacher but, more significantly, help your students pursue knowledge. Recognizing that, despite appearing to be inoperable, the instruments might simply need to be used differently in order to get the most benefit out of them.
Using Tech Tools to Provide Timely Feedback.
(Hertz, M.B. 2012)
I selected this essay because it addresses some of the pain points associated with being a student, specifically the outcomes of your work.As a current student, I understand that turning in

a task and having to wait—sometimes for a very long time—to find out if you completed it cor-
rectly is one of the most difficult parts of attending school.
The screencast is the idea that this article taught me.It would be very beneficial for the student to be able to take their work, screencast it on their computer, and then email the com-
pleted product along with an audio explanation. This way, the student can review the screencast repeatedly and learn from their mistakes as well as their successes.
This article taught me that there are a number of technological advancements that can help teachers provide their students the feedback they need. When I was in high school, these technological advancements weren't available, however now that they are, I would definitely make use of them to make sure my students have access to all the resources they need to under-
stand the assignment as well as what they did right and, more importantly, wrong.
