Abstract
(for professional papers)
Million Air is an aviation based industry that provides the services of fueling, chartering
and maintenance on all things aviation. It is the one stop shop after getting into the aviation field.
In this paper it goes over the recommendations to improve the overall experience and potential
growth in the industry. The first of which being a detailing business marketed to the younger
aspiring pilots. Next a catering business that can provide a personalized experience to the
customers enjoying the flight services.

Million Air is a business that provides fueling services including multiple trucks who are
trained to take the utmost care in preserving and protecting the aircraft. They provide aircraft
charters ranging from single prop planes to jets. They were founded back in 1984 in Dallas,
Texas. Founded by the Mary Kay Cosmetics family they started with one and built a business on
a luxury airport experience. Their FBOs also aid in aircraft maintenance. Million Air even has its
very own television channel. That way they can market to a whole region of the industry. They
modeled their business behind the “Disney experience”. They wanted to have a 5 star experience
and that's what helped in the growth over the years. In the year 2023 they now manage and
oversee more than 1 million movements, 2.5 million passengers and just under 70 million gallons
of jet fuel. They do this all with less than 40 bases of operations around the U.S. It does not stop
there; some of the facilities contain golf simulators and even a Starbucks.
If I was to make a few recommendations to the business practice I would begin with the
maintenance team. I would create a sub-brand and use the eager pilots in the area. There are
clients all over the country who want to fly and do not know where to start. Having CFI’s who
recruit potential pilots and would get a cut of the profits that go to the fuel and storage of the
aircrafts. To make the CFI's more appealing to keep clients happy and coming back would be
more beneficial to the FBO and to the pilots who are wanting to build hours. After viewing other
business models, commission based operations that put the individual in a place of authority
gives them pride. When becoming a dominant brand in the industry one must branch out to
different aspects. Aircraft detailing is a spectrum that can be cornered especially by a
well-known and reputable name. When marketing this to the public I am recommending it to the
future aviators. I would let them know there could be possible horse trade and that instead of

spending a ton of money on flight lessons, learning how to care for the plane first would be a
great way to market to the young and maybe the old who wish to take to the skies. Although they
already have a charter aspect of the industry. There is potential for a catering business as well.
It's more than likely that the people who are chartering a private aircraft to travel enjoy
convenience, sometimes the flex of not flying on an airline. There is a good chance the people
would enjoy having a catering service on the trip or upon arrival. Cornering the market on
providing a personalized service on each and every flight is important. Creating a club-like
experience in the skies can have high profit potential since the people flying might like
experiences. To go hand in hand with the catering the team would work cohesively with the
detailing business. It would just be an additional fee to create extra revenue and also be a great
way for the young aspiring aviators to experience the ins and outs of the different aircrafts not
just the single props.
I would recommend improving the overall experience on the inside of the office. There
are many different companies with their own versions of the office. Lots of water and seating, to
set Million Air apart again they could provide exclusive experience. Something that others have
is what status is and people love status. Creating a sub group for the “Big Spenders” whether that
means a different lounge and sub area or in building travel assistance for the ones who prefer to
fly often. The overall website could use some work, I would recommend providing a cleaner and
easier to follow website that way people who aren't well educated in the aviation field can search
for the plane and know the prices and therefore can get a quick and easy charter to where they
want to go. Traveling goes hand in hand with staying in a hotel or some sort of Airbnb. Investing
in property that can be used for customers to stay once they get there.

In conclusion, Million Air is a very successful company and has done some really great
things for their growth. There are a few recommendations that I believe can really take their
business to the next level. Throughout this paper I have shared these ideas and have shared the
impact I believe it could have.
