1. Discuss how your personal cultural competence and personal bias affects your ability to make ethically aligned public health decisions for stakeholders, communities, or populations. In what situations are your biases or values challenged? - Communication improves with cultural competence, which keeps patients safer. Healthcare practitioners can obtain accurate medical information with clear communication. It also encourages patients and clinicians to have active conversations in which they can ask questions, clarify misunderstandings, and establish trust. For stakeholder, personal bias could affect since benefits for them sometimes coincides with their beliefs. Situations in where are bias and values challenge is when there is something you really want that is not aligned to what you believe in or what are your principles. 2. Consider the implications of personal behavior in social media or in a social forum by a public health professional. What are the implications of personal behavior (what was said, posted, or claimed) when it contradicts public health ethics or public health information? What is the consequence if the content disparages a group or population? - Patients' usage of social media has been proven to have an impact on the relationship between healthcare professionals and patients, leading to more equitable communication between the two, more switching of doctors, harmonious relationships, and unsatisfactory engagement between the two. I think because of these benefits we should be responsible enough to what we share, post or even talk about in social media because there are people who believes in healthcare professionals immediately and if we're the source of what we call fake news or even news that are not credible then I think it's better not to engage in public. Doing these kinds of things can also endanger people surrounding you and not just your patients, it can affect certain groups in the community which can be relay to another more groups. 3. Explain why unbiased and ethical decision making is significant to underserved and racial/ethnic minorities. Discuss strategies that you can employee as a public health professional to serve diverse populations and promote health equity with empathy and humility. - Underserved and racial/ethnic minorities are commonly given an unjust and unfair treatment which makes it hard for them to get what they rightfully deserve. Bias has a profound impact on our decision-making. Because of mistaken optimism, potential threats can be underestimated. It is possible to make decisions that defy logic and rational judgment. Without rigorous consideration, decisions are taken. Certain cognitive biases can cause perceptual blindness or distortion, irrational interpretation - including of statistics - and, simply put, poor decision- making. When we are tired, anxious, or multitasking, we are more prone to cognitive biases. Strategies involve improve rapport, provide tailored treatment plans and Improved patient attendance and compliance.
4. Discuss a Christian worldview as an ethical framework for supporting human rights in a manner that leads to respect and social justice for others. Discuss the implications of a Christian worldview that conflict with professional expectations. What are the consequences for social justice? - Because Christians believe that all human life is unique and given by God, they will do everything possible to support human rights. Christians achieve this in a variety of ways, including through funding human rights organizations like Amnesty International. Religious discrimination occurs when someone (an applicant or employee) is treated unfairly because of their religious convictions. This is against your profession and is not a characteristic of a good healthcare worker. Racial inequality is one of the world's most prevalent social justice challenges. The majority of states have a history of racial discrimination and prejudice. It has an impact on a racial group's capacity to obtain work, get healthcare, and get an equitable education. 5. Consider what challenges you may face as a public health professional. Discuss the strategies that you can use to enhance your ability to make unbiased and ethically sound decisions for the diverse stakeholders or communities. - Burnout is a serious issue for healthcare workers. These shortages also result in general workplace discontent and increased employee turnover. Patients who may face gaps in their care or who receive lower-quality care eventually feel this stress. Also offering inexpensive healthcare rates amid rising prices is a major financial challenge for healthcare executives. Pharmaceutical costs, insurance premiums, and healthcare spending all contribute to these escalating costs. Ethical decisions build and maintain trust; they reflect respect, accountability, justice, and compassion; and they are in line with good citizenship. By establishing the ground rules for our behavior, these behaviors give a framework for making better decisions. Three of the important components of ethical decision making are individual factors, organizational relationships, and opportunity
