Case Analysis Paper Format
Each case analysis paper submitted should include four sections
the first
of which is identifying the key problem or challenge
. The following three sections will be your answers to case questions posed. The final question will generally ask you for recommendations that reflect the key problem or challenge.
Guidelines for case analysis are provided separate to this syllabus will be
available on the first day Canvas is opened. Case analysis can be no longer than
two- to two-and-a-half pages (single-sided, single spaced, 12-point Times New Roman, 1” margins throughout).
Use the four “questions” as headings in your case submission.
Up to two additional Appendix pages can be used for supporting information, references, tables or figures. Each case should be submitted to Canvas and should be submitted in WORD ONLY (not pdf, HTML, etc.). Please note that I want you to only refer to the case content when completing a case analysis and write-up. DO NOT use any other external references or introduce personal anecdotes for ANY case analysis!
Please note that there are different rubrics for each of the four cases. These are embedded in Canvas. These rubrics will guide you to use specific concepts, tools or approaches for your case analysis. It is important that
you apply these as indicated by the rubrics and that you draw insights and conclusions from their application that lead you to developing the recommendations to the key management problem or challenge presented in the case.
Further to this,
DO NOT use case analysis sources such as coursehero, studymoose, termpaperware, studymode or even sites like
mtcourseworkcijt
(this
last one is from Monternegro). If it is absolutely necessary for your case analysis, any direct quotations from the case should be properly referenced by using quotation marks and citing the case page number/s you have made the quotation extraction from. Note however that quote extractions and should be at
an absolute minimum in any case analysis. Any overuse of direct content from the case will be regarded as plagiarism.
Of course, it is OK to look-up terms, abbreviations, acronyms, city locations, FX rates, etc.
