For language learners, collaboration has benefits. The combination of these methods and how it relates to students' engagement are examined in this chapter. An experimental setup with experimental (EG) and control (CG) groups was used in the study. The study looked at student engagement's behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and relational levels. While the CG group used traditional collaborative learning, the EG group used collaborative inquiry-based learning in a flipped classroom. The findings demonstrated that EG students had better learning outcomes in terms of vocabulary range and fluency and significantly higher levels of engagement across all dimensions. The possibilities of collaborative inquiry-based learning in a mixed environment for language learners delight and motivate me. It is encouraging to see the results that show higher engagement and better learning outcomes. This method of teaching and learning is dynamic and successful. This study emphasizes how crucial it is to combine different pedagogical strategies to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. For example, an environment where students are more actively involved can be created by combining inquiry-based, blended, and collaborative learning methods. This can improve understanding and skill development. This realization may motivate teachers to adapt and innovate to improve student engagement.
The prospect of combining inquiry-based, blended, and collaborative learning approaches is exciting in language education. It is crucial to remember that although putting such sophisticated pedagogies into practice could involve careful planning and resources, the potential rewards seem great. Open-ended questions: In what ways could the results of this study impact the application of instructional strategies in subjects other than language acquisition? What are the difficulties in implementing these strategies in classroom settings, and how can they be overcome?
