HRMD 665 DISCUSSION WEEK 10 The team charter process was very impactful to me. I will be adapting this into how I lead teams in the future. By establishing a clear vision, mission, and objective provides a clear understanding of how the team will function. The Charter also allows the team to set the expectations of how the team will communicate, handle conflict, and division of work. By creating the charter as a group there will be ownership among the whole group for the way the group will interact. By including the team assignments and deadlines, team members will understand the part they play within the team. I often find that the rush to get work done causes teams to skip over the important steps of understanding why the team exists and how the individual members will impact the results. By taking the time to create the charter, the team will gain understanding of each other and their value in the team assignment. I also found the creativity readings insightful. Through fun, interactive techniques, team members can build connections, gain understanding of each other, and increase trust within the team. Creativity brings out new ideas and innovations that team members may not have been comfortable sharing in a formal environment. I can see this technique being used in brainstorming sessions and trainings with my team members.
